The truth confirmed as I already knew it!!
DH keeps sayings he needs proof about SS15 failing. He didn't want to believe the online grading system because it has been wrong in the past!!
So yesterday I get a call from SS teacher (not sure why I always get called and not DH or BM) she wanted to let me know SS is failing her class. Really? :O I've been telling DH for weeks!! Finally I have proof so now he'll believe me!! Right?
I text BM to let her know as she has also decided to ignoring the facts. She seems surprised to hear the news too! :?
DH picks up SS from school and calmly discusses grades and of course SS said the teacher was wrong just as I predicted he would!! DH says he doesn't want to hear it. blah blah blah DH proceeds to spend most of the evening in a bad mood and not talking to anyone! At one point I find him in the garage and he appeared to have been crying..sniffling or something. He just wanted to be alone. I felt bad for him!
Here's the best part!! A little later in the evening I hear SS talking away having a good ole time!! I go check on him and he is playing his XBOX. :jawdrop: I casually go up to DH to find out why this is and DH tells me "oh, he is playing because I didn't ground him!" WTF???
Why does DH bother being so upset and then drops the ball again! This is maddening!

My DH does this. SS brings
My DH does this. SS brings home a bad progress report, no one cares he gets to play PS3 and go to his friend's house or watch tv. I gave up. If his kid fails not my problem. MY son will never fail school. I will do whatever is necessary for him to get the best education possible.
It's really sad that SS does so poorly in school. He is super smart, just super lazy.
My SS can do so much better
My SS can do so much better than he is if only he would apply himself!! He is LAZY!! Plus there are no consequences for him so why would he do anything different?
My BD15 will do well in school because I want her to and because she wants too!! Plus she would suffer severe consequences otherwise!!
WOW, just wow. Well, the kid
WOW, just wow. Well, the kid is gonna end up failing the grade and getting held back like my SD14 who SHOULD be in high school but is still in middle...
Yeah the school apparently
Yeah the school apparently wanted to fail her, BM put up a fuss but since DH agreed with the school, BM's fuss didn't matter. They had one parent's signature to hold her back a grade...so now she's the oldest 8th grader in school!
SS should have been held back
SS should have been held back in 7th & 8th grade but no one was willing to do it! He failed his core classes! I have no idea how he even got into high school!! I told DH that SS wasn't mature enough anyway but I guess it's easier to ignore the obvious!!
I wish I could count on the schools standing their ground but again ignoring is easier!!
I think I am so shocked so I
I think I am so shocked so I continue to ask questions. I no longer get upset so I think I am on my way to not giving a crap!!
DH is totally passive when it comes to parenting his child but he is quite the bulldog when it comes to my BD. That is extremely annoying!
Jeez! So you get the brunt of
Jeez! So you get the brunt of his pissy mood because HE doesn't man-up and parent his child?
DH tried that with me once. I read him the riot act ... You do not get the privilege of a sad/pissy mood because YOU allow your child to fail a class. So man-up or I am going shopping at Hobby Lobby and buying as much as I want.
You are right!! I was sitting
You are right!! I was sitting there wondering why in the world he was so upset! This is no surprise!! I've been trying to warn him for weeks but he says without proof it is too hard to do anything because SS is such a liar anyway!! DH knows his kid is on his way to becoming a total loser!!
Now we have proof so he does nothing!! This is almost comical!!
Lol! I don't have proof, so I
Lol!
I don't have proof, so I can't do anything.
I have proof, so I can't do anything.
Seems your DH wants an excuse to be lazy and passive, and any excuse will do...
My DH parents like this too,
My DH parents like this too, he 'talks' to him, maybe yells at him or raises his voice then feels guilty and rewards SS with games, one on one time, treats and tickles. (SS is currently 7) this applies to any wrong doing.
So far, its not working.... MEH
My SS failed his ENTIRE grade
My SS failed his ENTIRE grade 11 year, but to his defence he had 2 whole core subjects *sigh*
Now grade 12, my SO is "going to become involved, lay down the law, make sure he studies every night, blah, blah, blah....
I go to bed every night listening to the pounding of the Xbox through our ajoining bedroom wall. Yup that involvement ended before it even started. Pounding my head against a brick wall because it feels so good when I stop
