Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

If you're around ST for any length of time at all, you'll see it comes in waves. Every few months there will be a big uproar about something or other, everyone will be worked up for days, and then everything will be normal and nice again for awhile.
I've definitely had to take breaks from sites before at times (not so much this one but others) when my annoyance/irritation/anger after reading started spilling over into my "real life".

So, do you recommend using a blog as your baseline and going into people's blogs rather than reading the forums? I've been on the site about 3 weeks or so and have been mostly on the adult sks and general. I've become fond of certain posters but they keep posting on there so I follow them that way.
Scubed, I like your slogan.
