Medical decisions
Question for you guys... I'd like to know how you guys handle medical decisions if both parents don't agree.. Example BM has ss5 on inhaler everyday twice a day and more if he coughs. DH has history of alergies and we live in terrible allergy area. He believes ss needs to see allergy specialist to be tested and possibly start allergy shots. So who decides?

What does the court order
What does the court order say?
I agree with you SAF, it
I agree with you SAF, it depends on what is in the CO.
In DH's case, Uberskank has full physical and legal custody of DH's kid (looooooooong story). Therefore, she makes all medical decision, DH pays half of the medical/dental not covered by insurance.
Honestly, that's how my
Honestly, that's how my agreement is written. I have full everything, and XH is supposed to pay 72%.
Not that it matters... I get nothing.
I hear you on not seeing any
I hear you on not seeing any of the expenses.
DH was CP when we married. Uberskank was responsible for half of the uncovered expenses. He presented her bills, she was court ordered to pay and is currently accruing 18% interest a year on what she owes him. And mind you DH's kid was seeing a counselor every week, for two years.
Now that Uberskank is CP, thus far he has not received requests from her regarding payment of med/den expenses in the last few years. He gets the EOB's and is keeping track of the uncovered items. When or if she decides to settle later down the road, he'll have the amount she owes him plus interest and he will deduct the amount he owes her from that total.
If he owes, he'll pay her asap. If she still owes him, c'est la vie, he hasn't seen it in three years anyway.
his primary care doctor
his primary care doctor should be making recommendations as to whether an allergist is needed. Perhaps Dad needs to be present for his next appt with the pediatrician. I am sure if the doctor has taken steps to put the child on an inhaler, that he has also explored the possiblity that this child may have allergies.
not to mention, allergy meds such as claritin can be bought over the counter with no allergist necc
The CO states they have to
The CO states they have to agree on medical decisions it really just says it's equally up to both. DH does not like ped and that is why he wants second opinion. He is going to call Dr office this week as he and BM cannot attend things together because she is crazy. In that I mean she causes major drama that he refuses to have his son witness. So that's our confusion if it's written they both have equal rights to decide then what happens if they don't agree?
