SKIDS BEEN IN HOUSE FOR 6 DAYS MOANING OF PAINS IN LEGS LOL

Lady London's picture

The Skids 13/14 are at mine and DH since last Thursday and as I said in previous notes they have not been out the front door in 6 days. There is a park on my doorstep but they wont venture out. Moaning they have pains in their legs from sitting around for a week. DH does not tell them to go out and maybe walk the dog - we are at work during the day and they are lying aroud bored. This is why I thought best they stay at their mums for this part of the holidays where they have friends and sports opportuinties. I think the partenting needs addressing in this scenario. Who leaves teenage KIDS locked up.... RUBBISH!!

How far away do they live with BM? Would it be possible for them to meet up with friends if they had the money for the tube/bus?

I remember being bored plenty of times as a child, especially when my parents would drag me to my Dad's softball games, where there were no other children, or when I would get home after school during the week while they were still at work. I had to learn how to entertain myself, and find things to do....if there are things to do like go to the park, walk the dog, play ball, and they aren't doing it.....it's nobodys fault but their own. You can't always entertain kids 100% of the time...at some point they have to learn to do that for themselves.

Thanks ladies they live an hour bus/train ride away - they need to start doing things for themselves they rely on their father to pick them drop then everywhere even local shopping and they wont go anywhere unless he is with them hence they dont go out. This pattern is the BM's doing, a way of controlling my DH Hopefully, things will change soon as they approach their next year in high school
