What to do?

Well, I spoke with my SS this weekend and he said that he was thinking of getting married, but he didn't know how to tell his dad that we wouldn't be invited to the wedding because it would hurt his mom and the SD too much. When I asked him if he realized how bad his dad and his half brother would be hurt, he had no comment other than that he loves his sister so much and he hates to see her hurt and that she is more important to him. I told him that I would step aside if he would allow his dad and our son to be a part of the occasion even though I have been a part of their lives for 15 years and it hurts me too.

It's really good to see you!! How have you been?

That really stinks that he would do that. I can't believe that after all those years, they can't suck it up until after the wedding.

I expect I will be in the future, if SD ever finds someone to marry her! She will NOT want me at her wedding. I would be fine with that, as long as her father and half-sisters are welcomed. They would want to be there, not me. I think you are doing the right thing. It's sad that the whole family can't be together, but your compromise is the best you could come to under the situation.

Weddings are a bad time to exclude people!

Your decision makes you a very unselfish and in turn makes you a wonderful person.
I hope in the end, your SS changes his mind and invites everyone of his FAMILY to attend his wedding.
Just to share, my Mom went to my niece's wedding last Fall. My niece's parents are divorced and they ALL attended the wedding because my niece told them that they had to "BEHAVE OR DON'T BOTHER TO COME, BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT RUIN MY WEDDING DAY BECAUSE YOU NOW CAN'T GET ALONG!!"
I'm happy to say, everyone behaved and the wedding was beautiful.
Too bad a "child" had to tell the ADULTS to act maturely.

Hope all turns out well for all
