Him

Mtbqueen's picture

He has been in the most rotten mood all week. He got in fights with our neighbors and his parents this week. He is so negative and nasty I can't stand to be around him lately. He does nothing to help around the house. After work he sits on the couch and talks shit about everything. He was criticizing the show he was watching and I'm just like then don't watch it. It's that simple.

I try to pry him off the couch. Let's go walk the dogs (that he brought home) nope. Let's go ride bikes, something that he got me started on... nope. I know these things are almost guaranteed to change a persons mood for the better but he stays planted

Sorry I'm in the wrong place since this is not about skids. But I appreciate having somewhere to put all of this

Since he's so unpleasant to be around, YOU go ride a bike. YOU go walk the dogs. Pouty McPouterson stay home and sulk.

Is he depressed? What do you think is the source of his poor attitude? If possible, make an appointment with his doctor and go with him. Fill the doctor in on his behavior before the appointment, as your SO may not tell the truth of be aware of just how bad off he is.

My spouse has chronic depression, and it can be a tough row to hoe. You really have to practice self care, because being around a depressive is, well, depressing. I make sure to keep active and involved in fulfilling things and people outside my marriage so I don't get sucked down my DH's rabbit hole.

Grey Rock Method....research it and try it out if you think it applies. I do not suggest it if he is a violent person as I’ce read it could cause him to get physical to get the attention he wants from you.
