Due to all of the drama that's been going on in the house this last week, DH decided to let SS7 go to DH's mother's house for the weekend. They came and got him on Friday and will keep him until Tuesday (he's out of school for MLK Day on Monday).

DH's mother is nothing less than a tyrant, manipulative, beast. And DH's father and his three brothers are her followers. DH's mother is the reason BM left DH in the first place. She's the reason BM moved away and won't come near SS7. DH's mother has put all of these crazy thoughts into SS7's head about me, DH, BM, BD1, and anyone else that might take SS7 away from her.

We took SS7 and moved an hour away - which is as far as we could go considering our work and schools are now an hour away too. We stopped letting SS7 see DH's family on a regular basis and we saw an INCREDIBLE improvement on his behavior, good grades, etc.

In return for SS7's good behavior, we let him spend the 2 weeks of winter break with DH's family. DH thought we had him under control and he would come home just as he was. WRONG! He came back worse than ever and caused the biggest fight DH and I have ever had. It took months for us to get SS7 under control and it was all undone in two weeks with DH's mother.

Sounds crazy to let him go back over to DH's mother's house for a long weekend, right? But, to be honest, we needed a break. I needed a break. And I'm ecstatic to have 4 full days of a drama free, fun loving weekend with BD1 and DH.

We'll have hell to pay on Tuesday but I'll let DH deal with that. For now, I'm enjoying my unblended family!
