Question: When will you/did you let your kids/skids sit in the front seat?

I am asking this question because DH has let SD sit in the front seat with him. She is 6 years old and very small! I already told him that no child of mine is going to be sitting in the front seat till they are atleast 9 or 10 (thats how old I was when my mom let me and my brother start sitting in the front-even though it says on most car visors no child under 12 should sit in the front seat) Im scared for her safety if he were to ever get in an accident. My friend got into an accident and the air bag deployed. She had scratches on her arms and bruises. She still has the scars too. She was wearing glasses at the time, and they were pushed into the sides of her eyes.
He told me he wouldnt let her again, but he kinda sometimes has the disneyland dad/guilty parenting thing going on because we only see her EOWE. So hopefully he will stop.

A child the age of 6 should still be in a booster seat unless the child is exceptionally tall. At least thats the law in Illinois. I'm a firm believer children under 12 should not sit in the front seat and they should never sit in the front causing an adult to sit in back

Its extremely dangerous having a small child in the front seat. I don't normally tell people what I do, but I'm in Insurance..(I know taboo) and I've seen hundreds of claims, many of them fatalities because the airbag has deployed killing the child..or even small, short, adult.

Having said that...my husband wants to be the coolest Daddy Waddy in town...so often he'll pull up in front of the house with Buddy Wuddy in the front seat... and well having said that Buddy Wuddy is 90 pounds.. (still only 8 years old)...so maybe he'd be ok...however, why take a chance with your kids life in order to look cool is my question.

When we were kids we rode wherever...even on our parents laps sometimes...but times are different now... like Airbags..and the education with regards to safety in a vehicle...
