Grandpa

positivelyfourthstreet's picture

At the dinner table last night we are discussing how credit should only be used for houses cars and higher education. DH is talking about how grandpa made a really good financial move on his last home purchase.

Me and my bios stare at him.

Grandpa is disabled and lives in a rental.

I ask ,"what Grandpa is this?"

DH:"Grandpa XWMaidenname"

"Oh That grandpa. The one that nobody at this dinner table is related to. Now it all makes perfect sense"

We finish eating. The only sound I can hear is the quiet popping of my brain cells as they die.

I don't know if he's really just plain stupid or just trying to push my buttons.

Since he's the only gainfully employed person at this time I'm leaning toward the button pushing theory.

Everyone in the family thinks he's crazy now. We just yawn and carry on.

Actually cars should not be financed if you can help it. But, good for him for trying to educate on money matters. Most parents don't.

They have money. Maybe that has something to do with it.

He says he doesn't even like him but from the way he is with them on fake book you'd never guess he'd been remarried all this time.
