Update to "Reading Time"

Rouge20's picture

It's been a while since this happened and I thought I'd post an update. The worst did not happen and everything is fine. I was so worried about it but she's been great and we've been working on some new schoolwork. I took advice from here and I give her the option of one hour or two half hours. She likes this a lot. We did add practice addition/subtraction because we noticed some issues when playing board games.

Reading Time

Hi all,

Just need to vent a little anxiety. I have a SD(10) who is a really good kid, and who I like a lot. We get along well and as I'm working from home I've been keeping an eye on her about 50% of the time (which I'm completely fine with and volunteered to do). BM works shift work so SD comes to our house when her mom is working, instead of going to BM's sister's places etc. (thank god). My SO does not expect me to watch her and is very respectful of when I have things going on and can't.

Punished for BM's Actions

Hi All,

I recently posted this as a response to another thread and then realized I should just blog it because I have so much more to say and didn't want to overrun someone's thread. I have a SD (10) who is a good kid and I can see she's starting to be pulled back and forth (mostly her mother's doing).

Short burst

BM is an essential worker in a long-term care facility. She's the step below a Personal Support Worker (1yr college program), the ones they bring in when they need to pay someone less so the PSWs can do their other stuff (she has a two week online course). Today she posted a Facebook frame on her profile picture with "LPN Nurse's Week!" (Licensed Practical Nurse, a two year college program after high school) and then changed it two hours later.
