I AM SO HAPPY!
LAST NIGHT I WAS CLEANING OFF THE TOP OF THE FRIDGE AND I FOUND A POEM THAT MY HUSBAND WROTE. IT WAS SOOOOOOOO SWEET. IT WAS A LOVE POEM ABOUT OUR MARRIAGE. WHEN WE FIRST GOT TOGETHER NEARLY FIVE YEARS AGO HE HAD WRITTEN ME A FEW BUT ITS BEEN YEARS. I WASN'T SURE IF I SHOULD TELL HIM I FOUND IT OR WHAT. BUT I COULDN'T HOLD IT IN. HE TOLD ME HE HAD WRITTEN IT THE NIGHT BEFORE WHILE I WAS AT THE BEAUTY SALON, AND THAT HE WANTED TO GIVE IT TO ME BUT HE WAS EMBARRASED. I FELT LIKE A LITTLE KID.

It's the little things (i.e.
It's the little things (i.e. not monetary, but from the heart) that put us on cloud 9!!!
It's a good feeling!

An unpleasant surprise
A few weeks after I married and moved to our new step family home, I was unpacking boxes by myself while my husband was at work and found a letter that he had written to his ex as they were in the process of divorcing a few years prior. In the letter, he vows that he will love her forever and talks about her positive qualities and his greatfulness for the children that they have. It was a real letter of praise and devotion to her.
I felt sick and very much like a fool. I have thought of that letter many times over the past couple of years and I don't think that I ever really trusted him the same after that. For me, that changed our relationship because I felt like second best. He really trivialized my feelings and provided no support, telling me to forget about the letter. First of all, why did he still have it in his possession in a place that I might see it and what does all of this mean?! What are your thoughts on this?
someboy special
It is hard for you to forget about it…I know…I to have “found” (well actually I was snooping b/c I was looking for something “wrong”…for what I don’t know but as they say, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it!) things that I wish would have remained hidden…it is hard to keep your mind from going there once you “know” something you wish you didn’t. In your case it is that your husband once loved another woman, before he loved you/married you…honestly, you already knew that, just not the “messy” details of it all….being the second wife is always hard b/c we know that we will never be the “first love” of his life…but you are his wife now and I’m sure he doesn’t feel the same way or else he wouldn’t have married you…he may have love for her for ever, true enough b/c that is how true love is, once you love someone, you always do love/care for that person…but your husband loves you and is IN LOVE with you, whenever your mind creeps back to the letter, stop it and tell yourself that he is IN LOVE with ME and that is why I am HIS WIFE and she is his EX-wife…
P.S. to him you are "someboy special"
Time
At that point in his life he may have ment what he said in that letter...but remember TIME CHANGES EVERYTHING. The man I was with before my husband I thought "was the love of my life," and at that time he was. But are my feelings the same now. Not even close! ANd I'm willing to bet if you think back to your past relationships you heart has changed too! Focus on your love together becasue that is what metters now!
