Oblivious!

My new tenants as mentioned before consist of a young couple, stepdad, NCPBM and her 11 yr old DD she gets on the weekends.   All three are as skinny as a stick yet the BM and her DD walk like elephants.

They don't use the spacious backyard for play, but you can hear the girl galloping across the apt, her xbox and kid movies going.  I remarked to Chef that you can always tell people raised in apartments vs. houses.  I was raised in apartments (flats) and we were always admonished not to make noise by our parents.  No stomping, heavy walking, slamming doors, running indoors, loud tv, etc

This did NOT ring a bell with Chef (who was raised feral himself).  When Chef's ferals were coming to visitation,  it was one none stop weekend of slamming doors, stomping, screaming, loud tv, heavy walking and loudly flopping into furniture.  Chef himself slams doors, the microwave, you name it.

Chef: "yeah when we went camping, we had to be quiet at night."

In houses. And XH and I have taught him to be quiet and respectful of other people's space and down time.

DH and the skids? Houses, too. Quiet? Not in the least. They are so loud. If they are up they slam doors and bang sufff around and generally assume they can do whatever they want.
It's because of parenting and not some other circumstance.

but my parents would never put up with us stomping around, flopping in furniture or generally being loud and obnoxious.  Slamming doors is a pet peeve of mine.  SS slammed his one too many times when he was about 10..and DH took it off the hinges.  SS had no door for about a month....after that we didn't have any issues with slamming of doors.

Sadly couldn't approach Chef with "you know how some kids have zero manners and common courtesy taught to them?"

He would agree but still not see the correlation with his brats.
