So, SS has all his ducks in a row and is moving about 4 hours away in order to go to college. WooHoo!!! And I held my ground and didn't offer to pay for anything. Double WooHoo!!!

I did set up his Internet service / schedule the installation since I get a discount through my plan, but the bills are separate, and his will go to him and be paid by him. I also picked up a few things for his apartment that he needed (DH and I went down there on the way to somewhere else to pick up the keys and check the place out since we hadn't seen it. It's furnished and equipped...not too nice but not awful...good first apartment). Got a cheap iron, a kitchen trash can, some kitchen linens. Less than $50 for everything. But no ongoing bills that "we're" paying or monthly amount that we're contributing.

DH is terrified for SS and says that this is going to be really rough for him. I think DH may not be giving SS enough credit. We'll see. I think all skids except OSD play a little helpless and hapless around DH...not really sure when or how that started, but when they're talking to me, they seem completely capable.

Anyway. 10 more days of having SS in our same town. OSD is also talking about moving to another town to finish college...and then we'll just be down to YSD. Woot!
