The whole thing makes me so blah

It was a kid weekend.

We have one SK out of town at college. One SK, "The Estranged One", who refuses to come home because "You act different around the house than you do on vacation." And finally one SK who is on their way out the door.

What a drag of a weekend! I'm sure I am not the only one who knows how tremendously uncomfortable it is to have a kid locked in their room for an entire weekend. She came out for water and cookies and when she has a scheduled activity. We asked for her to join us in doing several things and all I heard was "mumble, mumble, mumble." She could have been singing Happy Birthday for all I could understand!

What do I do? I have insisted that DH go to a counselor to figure out how the Estranged One left and why they won't come home, and how to prevent it from happening again. I have no hope.

Is it evil to count the days?
