And now the exciting conclusion of my story...(with some nasty BM commentary!)
We drove almost 30 minutes to meet BM, who just walked right across the street from her boyfriend's place. (I'm sure BM thinks she's sooo clever for "tricking" us into this arrangement. She spends most of her time at her boyfriend's place, which is sort of the half way mark between where she now lives & where my husband works. So on weekends, we have to drive an extra 15 minutes because it's from our house, not where he works & she doesn't have to drive at all because she's already there. My husband is so dumb for agreeing to this, but he didn't want to fight over it. Whatever!) After SD9 gets out of the car, my husband starts to leave & BM, walking hand-in-hand with SD9, walks DIRECTLY in front of our car, so we have to stop & wait for her to move her fat ass. OK, sorry, but this is where I get catty! lol! I remarked to my husband that all BM's exercising doesn't seem to be paying off! (SD9 is always saying how BM exercises now - because the latest boyfriend is into fitness.) BM is not fat, but she's not skinny, either. Yet she wears skin tight clothing that looks a few sizes too small...very unflattering. She holds most of her weight in her butt & hips, so wearing those low-rise, skin tight jeans with a too-short skin tight top just make her body issues look worse. Plus, when she wears those short, tight tops, it shows off rolls of flab & stretch marks. I'm not saying I'm perfect & lord knows I have my own body issues (& stretch marks!), but I have learned to shop for my body the way it is & I think I usually look pretty good. She's the same age as me & dresses like she's shopping in the teen section (she probably is). I usually try not to look directly at her, but since she shoved her ass right in front of us, I couldn't help but notice how AWFUL she looked. Nothing really new there! And normally I don't make fun of how people look, but when they're more ugly on the inside than they are on the outside, I make an exception!
Some more of the PAS stuff I noticed: Over the last month, BM bought SD9 a mountain bike & a laptop. (Gee, no wonder she wasn't impressed by her other presents! BM pulls out the big guns!) BM also got both girls kittens. (The kitten SD9 got last winter is already dead...supposedly ran over by a car. These people have been through so many cats it's not even funny. But as soon as one is gone, it's immediately replaced with another. Kind of like BM's boyfriends!) BM took the girls to Niagra Falls, which I'm sure wasn't cheap. Another annoying thing: SD9 refers to BM's house as "her house", while our house is "Daddy's house". It's always been this way, which is so ironic because we're always home & BM is never home. So SD9 spends more time at our house than at BM's. And now we OWN a house, so it's a permanent home. Yet SD9 still doesn't consider it her home at all. Kind of like how all of a sudden SD9 refers to my husband's father & stepmother as "your dad & stepmom". She has ALWAYS called them Grandma & Grandpa, but would not this visit. Yet when talking about BM's mother & mother's boyfriend, she calls them by the same nickname she always has. (And I can guarantee that she hugs & cuddles them, too!) It's really sickening!
Oh, another thing! At brunch, my husband had commented on how SD9 smelled like campfire from the night before since she hadn't taken a shower yet. I made sure to comment that she could take a shower at BM's tonight. SD9 then became obsessed with taking a shower before leaving our house. (I think she realized that school was the next day & she couldn't count on having time to shower at BM's.) My husband reassured her that she could shower at BM's because he didn't want to take time away from his time with her! SD9 was not happy. So what happens after BM picks up SD9 at 7:00pm? They go across the street to BM's boyfriend's place. Now, I'm sure SD9 doesn't have a bedtime at BM's like she does at our house, but still, on a school night, I would imagine SD9 would be in bed by 9:00. And the drive to BM's house is 15 minutes. How much do you want to bet that they hung out at the boyfriend's place for a while & then went home too late for SD9 to shower? But too bad! Not our problem! SD9 is only with us 2 nights. If she comes to us dirty or gets dirty while with us, we'll make her shower, but otherwise there's no reason she can't shower at BM's on Sunday night. It may seem like we're being jerks & SD9 is suffering because of it, but the lesson needs to be learned (by both BM & SD9) that if BM wants to be a full-time mommy, she needs to learn to be responsible. My husband & I will step out of the responsible parents role & focus more on the fun stuff. I'm not saying we're going to be doing the guilt parenting thing, we're just trying to prove a point here. BM talks the talk, but has yet to walk the walk!
Also, if SD9's clothes aren't extremely dirty or smelly when she gets here on Fridays, I'm not washing them like I usually do! She can wear them back to BM's on Sunday...it's only for a few hours. Again, less work for me, more for BM! It's about freakin' time!!!

Huh. The skids refer to
Huh. The skids refer to everything as Daddys...daddys house, daddys laptop. Funny thing is...Daddy has lived there 4 years, I have owned the place for 20 years.

Ha! I know the feeling! My mom actually commented on this, too. She said that our new house is probably more mine than my husband's because I make more money than he does. Of course, I don't see it that way because neither of us would be here on our own & we are married. But technically...
LOL....
"The kitten SD9 got last winter is already dead...supposedly ran over by a car. These people have been through so many cats it's not even funny. "
That made me laugh out loud. LOL!

Yeah, I was trying to keep it light, even though I think it's really terrible! I'm an animal freak & the way those people "take care of" animals is atrocious! I don't even know how many cats & kittens they've been through in the 4 years I've known them. BM always gets rental houses on busy main roads & the cats are always outdoor cats. You do the math!
Plus, sometimes the cats suddenly disappear & amazingly it's always the cat that craps all over the floor or has health problems. Hmmmm...
