(S)Sons or (S) Daughters .... which are the biggest PITA?
I just read an article about "Boomerang Sons" which indicates that adult Sons are welcome to return home more so than adult Daughters.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110222/lf_nm_life/us_britain_boys_boomerang...
Interestingly the article states that boomerang boys are more likely to pay rent and help financially where boomerang girls are less likely to pay rent or help financially. The article also indicates that boys are more likely to ask for money but girls actually receive more money.
There are other things in the article that are interesting but I keyed on the financial aspects of the story.
So ..... adult (S)Sons or (S)Daughters .... which are the biggest PITA whether Step or bio?

1 vote for daughters

I'm probably going to catch
I'm probably going to catch flak for this, but I think it depends on the stepparent. I think most stepmoms have more of an issue with stepdaughters and more stepfathers have issues with stepsons because of the emotionally incestuous relationships between these kids and their parents, which, in most cases the bio parent has perpetuated.
I agree. I also think that
I agree. I also think that whether we would like to admit it or not, sometimes it can also be attributed to the innate rivalry that can exists between two biologically unrelated mature animals of the same gender. I mean think about it, if you do not have the parent-child bond with your SK(s), then essentially this is just another female/male occupying your territory (i.e your home) and depleting your limited resources (i.e. you and your spouse's time and money!) This is why male lions typically kill the young males of previous pride leaders before before mating!
My younger brother has one
My younger brother has one daughter (17) and 2 sons (13 and 9). He says that when the kids are young girls are much easier but when they get older boys are much easier.
I have only my SS as a personal data point. For sure he was a charm when he was younger and a huge PITA now that he is older. Too bad we can't farm out the child raising and only take them for the easier phases.
OMG...i don't want either to
OMG...i don't want either to come back. Both have been equally cash sucking, so it's hard to tell.
I just got my game room cleaned up from ss17 moving out. Found a jar with water and cig butts in it hidden behind the weight set...
