Birthday Wishes - do adult skids ever acknowledge

I have yet in the past ten years, and skids are older, ever have gotten a birthday greeting. I would think as they get older they would get it. Maybe this year I will not acknowledge theirs - so that means no gifts or money.

So selfish.

My dad got remarried when I was 20. I love my "stepmom" and I try to send SM a birthday card each year...but I'll admit I didn't start doing that until I was about 24 or 25. I don't even think I knew her birthday until then...this year I had my baby about a week before her birthday and I totally forgot to send her card! I felt so bad!

SS13 has not acknowledged my bday ever really. The other kids would throw me a "party" and he would stand there with glassy eyes staring at the cake while they sang happy birthday to me. It was creepy. My kids, if they could not afford to get anything or had noone to take them, would make me something or do little acts of service such as cleaning, etc

I did stop having anything to do with ss's bday probably starting with his 11th. On his 10th my dh was in Iraq so I sent ss a box of nice clothes,etc (which was what was needed) and I never even got an acknowledgement. I spoke to him 6 weeks later and asked if he got them and he said, Yeah.
