School Hasn't been in Session One Month Yet Here In NYS. . .
and VD is predictably bombing out.
Venus De Milo (think TV show Living Color; SD stb 13) entered 7th grade this year after having to go to summer school and squeaking by on an average one point above failure. Can anyone say "pity grades?"
Anyhoo, VD has not even been in school for a month yet and lo and behold . . . she failed to turn in a number line project so got a "zero" there. Her current "special ed" Math class average is 63% (two points below failing here in NYS)
Her "special ed" Language Arts grade is even more abyssmal at 53%. VD is not "special ed" material. She's very bright, very manipulative and very lazy. She's been given the run of the house so she does what she WANTS to do and this reflects in everything including school work.
Science is 47% (two assignments not handed in; zeroes for both)
The first week she got a few higher scores on the obligatory introductory "froo froo" assignments; you know where you write a story about yourself for Language Arts, etc. but has quickly plummeted as REAL assignments are starting to come out.
She's already been late to school once already as well. Excellent parenting, Behemoth and Snuffleupagus!!!

SD14, currently in private school, saw fit to not only fall asleep in her Chemistry class, but also to BOAST about the fact on Facebook. DH was livid - and let her know it. Threatened to put her in state school. I hope he does, she is a wretch, you would not get me pouring money down the rat hole that is her private education. She has unfriended him for the 2nd time in 2 months.

Guess they'll be putting a three bedroom addition on their current house. On FB, Snuffleupagus wrote that he was overjoyed they were back in school. I really don't know how he does it. He must be on heavy duty drugs. GG and the Behemoth's feral peccories make Bart Simpson look like Lisa Simpson.

In NYS CS is mandatory no matter what till age 21. And of course, GG signed a mediation agreement that said he is responsible for 50% of college costs AND continued CS until child is 21 or graduates college WHICHEVER COMES LATER
So basically when all three drop out of HS or get pity grades all through HS, the Behemoth will enroll them in college and they will fail semester after semester on GG's dime. Hopefully I'll be long gone by then.

My friends ex'wife, golden uterus- f'ed up her kids so bad, and put off even letting the oldest take his GED (after he dropped out of school-he was homeschooling WAY past 18)...of course you know why-so she coudl get more support.

Yep, DH complains how SS12.5 is dumber than a box of rocks just like his BM... well wonder why?? Last year we got a letter from the school (think it was a mistake and should have gone to BM) that he was tardy 30 some times with 9 unexcused absences and that was JUST the first semester. He's already been tardy once this year (was actually DH's fault) and didn't go to school yesterday because he had to help BM move out of her BF's apartment into a different apartment and BM said he was "depressed" (probably depressed that he has a worthless POS beeotch for a mother who has been kicked out of every boyfriend's place that she has ever lived with including DH..... but I digress)So BM asked DH to "babysit" SS 12.5 yesterday.
Yep, good educational plan... sit on my couch and drool at MTV all day.. you'll be on the honor roll in no time.

Well at least your BM is noticeably unstable. The Behemoth does the MOTY, outstanding church lady, well respected citizen of the community act to a TEE! She's at all the social functions and parades the children around like trophies. And she's such a victim too having suffered a divorce. You know, very few people have gone through THAT trauma (sarcasm tags OFF).
And yes, I'm sure as shooting that all three are still highly involved in extra curricular activities. The Behemoth will see to it that they are all social animals (although all have ANTI social behaviour)
BH's first 8th grade report
BH's first 8th grade report card came to my mailbox last Friday. Bozo was in the car, so I handed it over to him. It didn't get opened and hasn't been mentioned since. I was curious as hell and still am, but failure to mention probably means that BH is not keeping all of his grades at a passing level, although he demonstrated the final marking period of last year he's fully capable when threatened with repeating a grade. In reality, I don't want or need the stress of knowing what's going on, but I'm still curious as hell. Just not willing to let Bozo know that. He'll either mention it himself or I'll stay in the dark.

Good idea! You're slowly backing away from Step Hell! To be honest, GG couldn't care less about grades either. He has told me countless times that "grades are not important" and "the teachers favour the smart students." Oh and "they are late bloomers, just like me."

Yup, decades upon decades of existence, Bozo, and no full bloom yet. Kinda like the early fruit blossoms. If a late freeze hits, they get nipped in the bud. Try again next year, or the next, or the next...

Ah yes Auteur. As to be expected. SO's daughter isn't bombing out, she's perfecting the fine art of staying just above threshold. Daddy gets upset, but not too upset. She pretends to give the whole story to him about what is going on at school and with her friends (who I just found out are becoming party/drinkers).
SO sloooooooowly is less taken by her antics, but he is still taken to some extent. I am so happy you laid out the law to GG about the skids not coming back to your home.
