Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

OD, that is so funny about
OD, that is so funny about est. I wasn't sure if anyone would know what I was talking about.
"drop that cocky "my vote is
"drop that cocky "my vote is saving America" crap because no one can predict the future."
^^^^^^^^^^^Love what you said here.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
No kidding on the FB posts. I've only been hiding the obnoxious ones spewing hate (on either side).
Hold him at gunpoint!
Hold him at gunpoint! Bwwwwwahahahahaha.
I've stopped myself from responding to several FB posts. I'm not affiliated with either party, I vote for the candidate who stands for the same issues that are important to me. I decided I would not waste my time getting into a FB pissing match.
I do have to admit that I was gleefully waiting to see how most of my family and some close family friends would be voting this year. Both candidates are not what they want, so I waited for months to see which way they would sway. If they would vote their party line or if they would swing to the other one. I'm still laughing about it. Well, I was until all of the political crap showed up on FB.
But still....it was amusing while it lasted.
DH is driving me batshit
DH is driving me batshit crazy for the last month because he is lockstep with one party and can't believe I'm not lockstep with them either. Then he makes these sweeping claims like, Party X put the gas prices down before the election to make them look better!
I ask him if the party really had the ability to randomly push down gas prices why they didn't do it before now. After all, if I was getting 99 cent gas, I'd vote for that party in a heartbeat.
Then he gets mad at me when I don't buy into his conspiracy theories. Sigh. The election can't be over soon enough...
I agree with you. Blaming any
I agree with you.
Blaming any President for the price of anything doesn't make any sense. Especially with commodity items like oil, something that is controlled by supply and demand (and the corporations running the show).
