Happy Hump Day, STalkers. Hella long week. It's about halfway through the day for me and I can taste Friday like an habanero pepper on a cut on my tongue. 

I know some of us are having a time right now, so I thought I'd share a couple of things from r.m. drake. Please feel free to share something that speaks to you or you find uplifting on a dark day.

 

"you have everything you need. yes, right now you feel a little empty and a little broken but you won't feel like that forever. count your blessings. so many people have it worse."

ETA: Physical things can be YUGE in lifting your spirits. Feel free to add your own (like Wicked's cake & kitty).

Self-care for Bad Days:

  • Take a nap (soft blankets and cuddly furbabies are pluses)
  • Cuddles with furbabies
  • Take a walk
  • Validate your feelings because it's okay to have bad days
  • Take a bath (great additions: a good book and a glass of wine or your fave cold drink)
  • Get crafty (scrapbooking, quilting, crocheting, coloring...)
  • Treat yourself (cake, ice cream, a new pair of shoes...)

I paint my fingernails when something is bugging me.  Especially weird colors like blue or green. DH says it's my warning flag *wacko*

Now I'm hungry for cake. The cake my grandmother used to make me for my birthday. German chocolate, home made... cake and icing. 

She passed away many years ago. Love you grandma.

SteppedOut, my dear Mom also made German Chocolate cake from scratch. Loooooooved using my fingers to get the bits of icing left in the saucepan. Whenever I make one of Mom's (or one of my grandmas) recipes, I feel like she's in the kitchen with me. <3

Exercise is great stress releaver and mood enhancer for me. I'm not always great at making myself do it though when feeling down or stressed, trying to get better!

I'm so over everything and everyone lately that I'm checked out. I'm doing what I want, when I want and I just don't care anymore. If that means I'm eating a pint of ice cream for dinner, then F.U. SO, go and make your own food. Leave me alone grrrr. That's my new self care.

DPW, it is never too cold for ice cream or too hot for soup/chili. I may stop and buy some ice cream for my dinner tonight! Biggrin

I never thought of getting a mini fridge for that purpose.
