BabyVoice turns 21 today...

When I found Steptalk (under my former name, see what I did there?) back in 2010, it was so hard for me to see this day coming, but it is here! The last of my kids/skids is an adult!!! She starts her senior year of college in the fall, and I gotta say, way back when DH got custody, I didn't think we would ever get here.

She is a good kid with a good head on her shoulders. Great boyfriend, great job prospects, really looking forward to seeing what she does next.

DH is feeling very old today :-)

He is two years younger than

He is two years younger than I am, and my kids are 32, 28 and 28, but yeah, HE is the one who is old LOL

It can happen

You give hope to all those on the trenches.

It can happen, for sure, BUT

It can happen, for sure, BUT it only happened here because Medusa/the Beast (BM nickname depending on when one met me here on STalk) had custody stripped away from her and she never took advantage of her very limited parenting time. Had she remained in the picture, she surely would have continued to poison the skids. It took a LONG time to undue the damage she had done, and it took a HUGE toll on my marriage, but all these years later, all is fine.

It’s always nice to see a poster on here who for the most part had it work out. Happy for you and DH to finally be at a point where you can enjoy the success of having raised (excluding ASS) some great young adults.

Enjoy your empty nester launched Spawn phase. Mine (SS) launched 13 years ago, he turned 31 last week, and though he has taken a diffent route than BabyVoice has, he is kicking butt in his adult life. His mom and I are very proud of him. Not one call for money since he launched. We have to force him to take our gifts.

You and DH have done a great job! 5 for 6. Being 1 for 1 was challenging enough. 5 for 6 in a fully blended situation... just Wow! At least ASS is out of your home. Hopefully he figures out his life and you can get to 6 for 6 of independant Kids/Skids.

Yep - DH and I always figured

Yep - DH and I always figured she would end up okay since she was only 9 when she came to us. She really blossomed once she hit high school and found her tribe. We are going to see her tomorrow for her birthday - and no, she didn't hear a peep from the Beast on her birthday, despite living less than 10 miles away from BabyVoice...
