DH is all awkward. :( I am hiding in my room.
So DH got back from getting SD6's stuff from her old apartment yesterday ... See previous blogs for backstory.
Firstly you should know we have not seen the inside of this apartment since BM kicked us out when DH noticed that there were mushrooms growing inside of the fridge and threatened to call child protective services.
So he went to gather SD6's stuff that BM literally abandoned there because she was too cheap to ship it and took his sister with him... Apparently sis-in-law started crying when she saw the filth her niece had been living in. DH took pictures for any future potential court appearances also.
Anyways he brought home a crate of toys and some of SD6's dresses that were left in a closet and is acting all awkward, like he is trying to integrate SD6's stuff in with BD6's stuff, and place toys around the house etc.
It is freaking me out a bit to be honest. He tried shoving her dresses into BD6's closet, which is already overflowing, and started putting her books out as if she is going to appear and start reading them.
I am kind of annoyed, and trying not to be venomous about it as I have already bitten his head off several times this week for various ridiculousness. Currently barricaded in my bedroom with my phone pretending to fold laundry! I am at my limit for bS and weirdness I think, and it is dangerously close to boiling over! If I didn't have this blog I would probably have blown a gasket by now!

More importantly, think they
More importantly, think they have any "magical" properties? I mean if you're gonna grow mushrooms, even accidentally, might as well make them worthwhile.
HAHA. BM wouldn't have left
HAHA. BM wouldn't have left them in there if they did
BM was too busy playing video
BM was too busy playing video games online to clean her fridge... You should have seen the microwave.
Needless to say, every time we get SD back I disinfect EVERYTHING.
LOL Mudder. Now you see them,
LOL Mudder. Now you see them, now you don't.
Seriously, I feel sorry for your SD. That is just so gross. A mess is one thing but a fungus growing in your fridge? Bet even cats won't use her apartment as kitty litter
I think your DH is trying to
I think your DH is trying to deal with the loss of his daughter. Sort of like people who lose a spouse and leave their stuff all over the house for a few months until they can emotionally deal with it or a family member does.
Why not get a nice box to put her things in. Stencil her name on it ... maybe a blanket chest?? ... and tell him that when she comes back she will have her own special place to keep her special things. Let him leave the books around. Your daughter is a constant reminder of the daughter he may not see for some time if it all plays out as your think it will. So let him go for a bit.
It isn't about his ex, it is about losing his daughter. He is terrified he will never see her again.
1of4, think that is the
1of4, think that is the kindest thing to do. It can't hurt to make cute things personalized just for her. Like there's a place for her there without the gross factor
I absolutely agree too. Make
I absolutely agree too.
Make something really nice and special for her stuff, so he can keep it, can see that you understand, and you don't have it in amongst your dd's stuff.
And hug him lots, he's obviously hurting right now.
Hugs to you too.
I would have changed the
I would have changed the locks and told him to stay at the apt he just cleaned! No need for the rest to have happened I.e. the toys and boys and stuff as he wouldn't be there to bring that stuff in.
