BM screws us over for xmas again

What is it about holidays that makes her more of an a-hole than usual?

Last year we got SD to tell us what she wants for Christmas and a month in advance we let BM know the specific items from SDs list that we were getting her. So of course, being the psycho that she is, she gave SD the one big gift we got herself, a week before Christmas. BM claimed she forgot that we told her about it, but I knew she was just being a spiteful, hateful jerk.

SD10 arrives tomorrow. Everyone in the house is excited. They are also completely oblivious to the storm that I am positive is coming.
I have reached a point after 7 years of blended family hell that I just keep myself braced for it and try to hold down my own daughter's and not let it rock their boat too much.

BM is refusing to pay for SD to travel

It is always something.
So, the short version of the story is that when I met DH, BM and SD were still here in Canada but within a year of that we were in court fighting for custody because BM decided she wanted to take SD and move to the USA to live with another man. After she lied her way through the courts, they allowed this to happen and now SD9 has been living there for a few years.

It has been almost 2 years since I have posted here. Not that I have not been here lurking, because knowing I am not the only idiot subjecting myself to this life is comforting. Wink

Still dealing with the little things that make this life rough, but less often since the courts allowed BM to haul SD9 to another country.

Worst. Mother's Day. EVER!

So my FIL passed away quite suddenly from cancer a week and a half ago. We traveled to his funeral in another province this weekend and just returned this evening. Mother's Day going unacknowledged was a given in my book. FIL was very important to all of us in more ways than I can describe in a forum post and we are all legitimately broken up about the whole situation.

I did not feel even mildly upset about this situation until we returned home and DH did the stupidest thing EVER.

How solid is the burden of transport claus in a custody arrangement?

B.M. has crossed a line and DH is gearing up to retaliate (which makes me ecstatic! He seriously doesn't stand up to the bitc... Often enough), but one thing is making me nervous, so I have come to the people who live it for advice/wisdom.

To explain the situation in as simple a way as possible, I will use point form. - I apologize in advance as I am typing this on my tablet.

BM is a psychopath. What else is new.

I wish I understood what drives this fat cow. She seriously must have the lowest self-esteem of anybody ever!

Recently her craziness has been all over the place, from telling BD7 and SD7 that they can't talk on skype anymore and making them both cry, then denying that she did it later when DH confronts her, to randomly attacking the in-laws for "not calling SD7 when she is with BM" (TO WHICH I WANT TO YELL, "BECAUSE THEY HATE YOU") and then Facebook stalking all of them with nice, cutesy comments on their every status.

Fun question - if you could go back in time...

While I sit here reading all of your posts on steptalk, drinking and ignoring my lame husband who did nothing for my birthday, I shake my head with how familiar everyone's stories are because I have been there too.

I got to wondering, if I could go back in time to any point in my life, and tell myself one thing, right now, this second, without thinking about it to hard, when would I go back to and what would I say?

Lamest birthday EVER!!!

It is my birthday today and I went to work, came home, cleaned, put kids to bed and that's about it. I am not one to complain about such things usually, but I think my frustration today stems from the fact that on SD's birthday the world revolves around that kid... We spend a fortune, make calls sing songs, and it is a HUGE event, despite the fact that we know that she is getting another huge event from BM.
