2.) We went running
3.)He asked me outside a restuarant after a fancy dinner...totally out of character for him to insist we go out for a fancy dinner!
4.) It will be "At Last I see the Light" song from the Tangled movie!
5.) I'm so sick of feeling crazy emotionally on my period. Why do hormones SUCK so much? Thanks for the pick-me-up,clearly I needed it! ha love you other SM's so much!

How did you meet DH/SO?
We met at work. He was one of my managers. It happened randomly when I started working there I didn't think anything of him. But the more we talked (even about work) the more I learned and I started to like him.
Once he showed he had the same feelings, it was really fun being sneaky at work
But eventually we had to seperate and I went somewhere else.
What did you do for your first date?
Went out for dinner. We were going to go see a movie but changed our mind. We bought a lot of candy and them rented movies to watch at home.
How did you get engaged?
He came home with flowers and on one of the flowers was a ring.
He got down on one knee and proposed. It was so sweet.
What was your wedding song?
Not married yet.
If not married, do you have "a song"?
At work, everytime "hey there Delilah" came on, he would lip sing it to me. It's been our song since.
I love that song!
I love that song!

How did you meet DH/SO?
At school. I was a freshman in college & he was a sr.
What did you do for your first date?
We went to a movie. Saw something horrible lol. Then out to eat
How did you get engaged?
He asked me on my graduation day
What was your wedding song?
John Legend "so high"
Anything else you want to share?
DH is great. always has been always will be. He always kept his BM drama separate from me until I told him it was ok for me to be involved. & that didn't work, so now he keeps the drama away from me again. If I would have listened to him from the get go about BM, I may not have ever had to be on this site!
1-Met on an online dating
1-Met on an online dating site. He was (is) hilarious! I contacted him first. He said he saw my profile but thought I was a little "out of his league" and was hesitant to contact me. Even if that's a crock of crap, I appreciate him saying it. haha!
2-We went out for beer and appetizers on our first date (well beers for me, he is 17 years sober). We go back every year to have the same meal to celebrate.
3-He surprised me with an engagement ring. I took a couple of weeks to say yes (skid drama wasn't under enough control at that time for me. I needed to feel more comfortable progress was legitimate)
4-No wedding song. We eloped. I rented my wedding dress from Rent the Runway (highly recommend!) and he made my bouquet for me from flowers we ordered online.
5-No official song for us
6-My DH moves mountains to make me happy. He isn't afraid people think of him as "less manly" because he sort of caters to me. I adore him and feel he is my best friend.
Met my DH in 1989 when we
Met my DH in 1989 when we dated in college. We reconnected again in 2007.
Our first date in 2007 was walking around downtown Boston down by the pier.
He work me up one morning with my son who was holding a sign he made, asking me to marry him!
Our song is "Far Away" by Nickelback.
We eloped right on the pier in Boston where we had our first date in 2007.
DH and I met initially
DH and I met initially through mutual friends (my neighbors). He was engaged (his rebound after BM) and I was with BS's dad. I always thought he was nice and funny but didnt think much else about it.
Fast forward a few years later, both of us single. Neighbor had a birthday party. A week before that he asked neighbor for my number and we started texting.
So just being open and honest- first "date" was at neighbors birthday and we went out drinking and dancing and had a ton of fun and he came home with me and we stayed up till 5 in the morning. He had brought me a rose to the party which I thought was really nice
Our first "real real" date was 2 weekends later, we went to dinner & bowling. Then the next day we went to a park and for lunch. The rest is history
DH proposed in my bedroom almost a year after we started dating. It was not a surprise (I had an idea that he was going to) and it was kind of "blah" to be honest. I was in my pjs, it was after work. I know he proposed to his rebound after BM (he was engaged to another woman before me) and he did it similar. So ummm yeah.... thankfully I love him and he is good to me.
Our wedding song: When You Got a Good Thing- Lady Antebellum:
Verse 1:
Everybody keeps telling me I'm such a lucky man,
Looking at you standing there I know I am.
Barefooted beauty with eyes that blue, sunshine sure looks good on you, I swear.
Oh I can't believe I finally found ya baby,
Happy ever after after all this time.
Oh there's gonna be some ups and downs,
But with you to wrap my arms around, I'm fine.
Chorus:
So baby hold on tight, and don't let go.
Hold on to the love we're making,
Cause baby when the ground starts shaking you gotta know,
When you got a good thing.
Verse 2:
You know you keep on bringing out the best in me,
And I need you now even more than the air I breathe.
You can make me laugh when I wanna cry,
This will last forever I just know. I know.
Chorus:
So baby hold on tight, and don't let go.
Hold on to the love we're making,
Cause baby when the ground starts shaking you gotta know,
When you got a good thing.
We got married in October. We are finally taking our "honeymoon". I am really looking forward to taking our first "real" vacation together and no kids
1. He was my high school best
1. He was my high school best friend's older brother, had a crush on him then, and then we got older and I went to see visit her and she was at his house and well it started something.
2.Our first date we went to Hooters for wings and beers.
3. We got engaged when we found out the time frame I would be deploying so after drill we set a date and that was that was our engagement.
4.Our wedding song was George Strait - Cross My heart
5. During our vow instead of lawful wife he said awful wife LOL but I promised that when he got his vasectomy reversal I would never speak of it to him again. And he will not watch our wedding video becuase of it.
LOL! We got married outside.
LOL!
We got married outside. Of course it had to rain the whole week before and the day of the wedding so the ground was soft and wet. I was in high heels- stilettos. (not sure why I thought that was a good idea) I kept sinking into the ground. I was holding on to DH so tight, thinking PLEASE do not like me fall over or get stuck in the ground
That is pretty funny all I
That is pretty funny all I can picture is a bride and groom chasing the ring down the aisle.
Haha! DH couldn't get the
Haha! DH couldn't get the ring on my finger, my hands were swollen, so MIL yells out put some lotion on it :). Smart ass that I am, I say the first thing that comes to mind-it puts the lotion on the skin-with the mic in my face. Everyone on the beach heard it, and we laughed.
1) knew him in high school,
1) knew him in high school, hung out with his cousins and we went out different ways. I found him on Facebook
2)we went to the range
3) he asked me if I would "marry a hard working, stubborn as hell marine who liked to shoot.
4) "highway to hell" we walked down the aisle as mr. And mrs. To it. Laughing
When we were first dating, we hadn't spoken on the phone to each other. It had been all IM and text messages. We were suggesting songs back and forth and, after we had signed off the computer for the night he called me and said "know that Chris Ledoux song, tougher than the rest? Well, I know that road is dark, and it's a thin line, but if your ready, ill walk it for you till the day I die" I melted. I STILL melt when I hear that song.

1. I met DH in a bar. I was talking to a mutual friend, and he came up to the friend to say hi. I was out for a friend's birthday, so he bought her and I a shot.
2. Our first date, we went out for drinks. I had a friend w/me as a buffer (and an out if I needed one) and she eventually left and I met some of his friends. It was fun.
3. We got engaged at home. We were by ourselves. We were actually going to my brothers house to hang out with him and his girlfriend. DH was taking FOREVER to get ready and I believe the words I said right before he proposed were "Finish your f***ing beer already! It's 11pm! We need to get there!" I turned around and he was holding a ring. When I pulled my foot out of my mouth, I said, "Is this a joke? Are you serious right now?!" (I had an ex that fake proposed to me...twice, so I wanted to be sure.) And then I started bawling. He told me that he knew from our first date that I was the one. He probably said a bunch of other romantic stuff, but I was way too emotional to remember. lol
4. We walked down the aisle to "1000 years" by Christina Perri. I cried the entire way down the aisle. I had my brothers walk me down. They were both telling me how happy they were for me the whole time and I couldn't stop crying. Our first dance song was "She is Love" by Parachute. If you have never heard it, listen to it. It's amazing. DH said it was like it was written for me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwrVYjJmNmo
5. DH is a big Kid Rock fan (his only fault really). So there was A LOT of Kid Rock played at the wedding (unfortunately). We walked back down the aisle to "Don't Stop Believing." Which was fun.
6. I am so blessed to finally know how a man is supposed to treat a woman. DH tells me everyday how much he loves me, how beautiful I am, how blessed we are as a family. He works hard and is a great father. SD adores him. And we adore her. Now with our first baby on the way, I can't wait for our future. I'm pretty lucky!
How did you meet DH/SO?
How did you meet DH/SO? Through mutual friends he was living with we had video games in common lol
What did you do for your first date? got drunk and had a cookout
How did you get engaged? Not, in fact I've been clear it's not on my agenda to marry any time soon. He brought up marrying me before he was divorced and my response was pretty harsh
What was your wedding song?
If not married, do you have "a song"? Are you gonna kiss me or not. It was playing the first time he kissed me, and I strategically placed myself where he was going to have to man up and kiss me or walk away.
He was a charmer, called me "darlin" and "hon", opened doors, pulled out my chair, all sorts of sweet super sweet stuff.
Course later I found out he pretty much calls every female hon, opens doors for everyone (that's okay it's how it should be!)he's still sweet but it's not usually just because it's usually to suck up. Which makes me sad, he doesn't want to DO anything, go anywhere, try new things and resents me for going somewhere with my life. He's subtle about it but it's there every single time he says, "well your going to do that without me I have kids." (uh so do I!)
I met FDH at a softball game,
I met FDH at a softball game, he plays on my brother team- we were both in other relationships at the time. I had no idea he liked me and he said he was already in love with me for 2 years and facebook stalked me LOL
WE went to Ruths Chris steak house for our first date, then out for drinks after- still is one of the best night I've ever had. We had a blast.
He brought me to a jewelry store to look at something for our 2 year anniversary and he picked out a gorgeous ring, bought it and slipped in on my finger. I was a little confused to be honest bc he still didn't "pop the question (he said he was so nervous) " So I made him do a redo on his knee, he did it in candle light during a fierce storm and we lost electricity for 2 days. It was pretty awesome.
We don't have a song
We are not married yet
I love him with all my heart, he honestly does try to fix things and I know he adores me. He's very sweet, still gets me flowers, takes me on dates and tells me how much he loves me daily.
DH and I met through a dating
DH and I met through a dating site actually lol. He was dared to get on it by his brother and my friend dared me to get on it. He was the only guy I talked.
Our first date was when we met for the first time at a coffee shop, and we both knew (love at first sight lol)
DH proposed to me in bed one morning. I loved it!
We didn’t have a wedding song, my sister sang at our wedding instead. I wouldn’t trade my very small and cute wedding day for anything.
Only 1 month after getting married we were mobilized for a deployment (I volunteered to go with his unit). We spent the first year of our marriage in Iraq living in a 10x10 housing unit (called a can for obvious reasons)
met - i met DH in a friend's
met - i met DH in a friend's driveway. holiday weekend barbecue bash, i knew the wife, he knew the husband.
first date - didnt really have one, when we met we were inseparable allll night long (literally until i left at 8a). we went to another cookout later that day, then spent all night talking (again, literally until i left at 6a). i guess first official would be the *next* day after that, we had beer and pizza at his place and talked and talked and talked.
engagement - he just asked, and i just answered. ^_^ didnt get the ring for another few weeks, at which time he dropped onto his knee in our hallway with a bouquet of roses and asked me again.
our wedding song - you save me, kenny chesney.
other songs - so far away by staind. love to lay you down by conway twitty. i'll stand by you, the pretenders. where you are, rascal flats. kid rock, allll summer long (came out when we met, heard it all summer!), and colt ford's dirt road anthem.
good times. good times.
How did you meet DH/SO? Funny
How did you meet DH/SO?
Funny story. I got pestered by a friend's BF to meet this guy named guysname. I finally gave up and decided to just be a royal BITCH to this guy. Got to the bar and guysname asked me to play darts and if I wanted a drink. I said yes and sucked down like three all while kicking his BUTT at darts and letting out my inner bitch for a rager. Finally sat down at the table with everyone else. The guy on the OTHER side of me started talking to me. I saw a perfect opportunity to get rid of guysname for good so I engaged in a conversation with him. Turned out that THAT guy had the same name and was actually the guy I was supposed to meet! He is now my DH. I feel so badly for that first guy that I was so mean to! Poor guy.
What did you do for your first date?
Went out to a restaurant, to the bar with some friends and then back to their place for cards and more drinks.
How did you get engaged?
He proposed to me at the same restaurant we went on our first date at. Too bad BM was there when we were leaving and started screaming at us in front of everyone waiting for tables. ::sigh::
What was your wedding song?
Didn't have one. Married at the courthouse shortly after 9/11 happened.
Do you have "a song"?
Tesla "Love Song" Although it is a song sung by a friend to another who has just gone through a breakup, that's how we felt. We both thought we were in love before we met each other. But that was NOTHING compared to our chemistry.
Anything else that you want to share?
Now that both skids have aged out and BM is no longer a constant source of drama, I have to say that we are as much or more in love than the day we got married. I am so happy that I stuck it out and also gave him the boot in the ass to take care of his OWN issues. We are very happy so I feel like as much as BM used and abused us, we won in the end.
Dh's wife (aka the now BM)
Dh's wife (aka the now BM) introduced us, when they were still married - Told HIM I was "just his type". We spoke 4 words that night "nice to meet you".
Weeks later she started rumours I was "trying" to sleep with him. (for the record, no, and nothing happned between us until WAFTER they were separated - *I* have morals)
Did I MENTION her and I met/knew eachother in the months before because she was fucking MY male friends...several of them and not a single one of us knew she was married. Or perhaps the time, months after they split, she was yelling in my FACE in a bar about how I was "fucking HER husband" while she was holding her BF's hand...
Ya. I should have guessed back then what my future with her in it would hold...
Don't worry - I am the "homewrecker" in this relationship - conveniently she has no recollection of any affairs, or the fact they had to get a DNA test on the YSK....
First Date:
No where special, not sure we had one.
Engagement:
Lying in bed, again not very funtastic.
We met on Match.com. He was
We met on Match.com. He was out of my age range (I didn't want to meet anyone over 40 as I was 29) but he looked like a nice guy. He reminded me of the husband of one of my professors in college who was super sweet.
Our first date was at a Ruby Tuesday, and we've gone back on the same day every year since then to commemorate it. The very first time we spoke I had a migraine, and barely remembered talking to him. The next day I considered calling him and apologizing if I sounded weird (meds for the migraine). Before I had a chance to decide, he called me to ask how I was feeling. I thought that was so sweet considering we hadn't even met in person that I decided that we should meet the next day and "get it over with". It was the best first date...the conversation was amazing.
DH put my engagement ring in a heart-shaped box of chocolates and gave it to me for Valentine's Day. He went out of his way to downplay Valentine's Day knowing he was going to do that.
We had a destination wedding, and the hotel manager asked a band in one of the bars at the resort to play a song for us when we first got there. We both loved the song "She's Royal" by Tarrus Riley and had it put on our wedding video. We consider that "our song".
I met my DH through a popular
I met my DH through a popular online dating site. Cheesy, but true.
For our first date, we went to a museum devoted to a period of history we are both very interested in. (Yes, we are nerds! )
He asked me to marry him over dinner at my favorite Japanese restaurant.
“Our” song is Etta James’ “Sunday Kind of Love.”
I really, really love my husband! And I really, really wish he hadn't already had kids with somebody else.
1. We met online, through
1. We met online, through Plenty of fish. Not exactly the "i'm looking for a relationship!" type of site by any stretch of the imagination.
2. We went to a bar for karaoke. Neither of us really drink (he's an Irish man who cannot properly digets alcohol and I can't drink much because of my Crohn's) and neither of us sang. We just talked and got to know one another. And realized all of the weird and random things we had in common - mutual friends, we were both born in the same hospital, he used to live down the street from where I grew up, and we drove the same car.
3. My engagement story is aaaaahmazing with a side of awesome sauce. First, a little backstory: we both love The Supersuckers. That band is the only reason we met. I was wearing a Supersuckers shirt in one of my profile pics and he used that as the subject line to the message he sent me (and he's lucky he did because I had given up on that site before he messaged me and probably wouldn't have read his message otherwise). So, for our four year anniversary, FDH started a plan in motion. He got in touch with the singer's wife through our dog's facebook page (yea, our dog has a facebook lol) and arranged to have the singer call me and propose to me on FDH's behalf. He was originally arranging to have it happen on our anniversary, but, he doesn't go onto facebook all that often, so, he missed the reply message from the singer's wife. As it turned out, he managed to get the plan together when we went to our local zoo for a member's night (I bought us a membership for our anniversary). It took some cajoling on his part to get me to answer my phone, though, because I have a tendency to ignore calls from numbers I don't recognize. But, I'm glad I answered because now we can say that the singer of our favorite band is responsible for our engagement as well as our relationship ^_^ And the timing was perfect, it was about to storm while we were at the zoo, so we were rushing to get to an indoor exhibit, but paused by the elephant enclosure. That's when the call came in. If it had come in any later, I may not have gotten it because of wonky reception and storm interference.
4. Not married yet, so...
5. Our song is "I Don't Want to Lose You Yet" by Steve Earle/Eddie Spaghetti. It's going to be our first dance at the wedding in October, but we're still trying to decide between the Eddie or Steve Earle version.
FDH and I worked at the same
FDH and I worked at the same grocery store. He was out of his and I was still a senior. He had already had sd8 but not sd5. We were friends, work buddies.. I drove him if his car broke down and he'd do the same for me. He managed a Mcds as well at the same time. So he would come in with free junk for everyone in our dept. We made pizza and chickens. After he had sd5 and I got pregnant with bs4 we ended up single... helping each other out and it just went from friendship to relationship. We've been together for four years but friends for six or seven.
Lol.. first date was a weekend spent in a hotel for an anime convention back when all the kids saw their other parents. We had a friggen blast.
He actually asked my father's permission before proposing at a chillies. He paid for my family and us to go out and a bunch of people clapped when I said yes. My mom made a video of it.
We haven't chosen a song because I am incredibly lazy and haven't even started planning our wedding.
I met DH online. For our
I met DH online.
For our first date, he flew 9 hours to meet me. He was in love, I needed time. About a week later, we were having so much fun playing 20 questions that I just knew he was worth it.
Where he's from, getting married is not that common anymore. I refused to move across the world to 'just' live together. We went to Antwerp and looked at beautiful diamond engagement rings. None were purchased. Angry and hurt thoughts were thought. Possibly with evil eyes. We came back to the Netherlands and he suggested a walk. Gave me the map and asked me to lead (a fun thing for us, because I get lost soooo easily). Destination was the jewellers. We chose a ring together, and he asked for it to be wrapped up for 'later'. We then went to the library (I read a LOT). He came over and said he had a question for me. I thought he wanted to know how to search for a book (he doesn't read or visit libraries lol). Turns out the question was if I wanted to get married to him. I did
We got married in my cousin's house, with about 40 guests. We walked down the 'aisle' to I Got You, Babe. Everyone sang, men and women following Sonny and Cher. It was HIL-AR-I-OUS!! The women were loud and proud, the men mumbled and failed to articulate. Fantastic! Everyone was giggling and having fun.
