Both DH and I are in the Army reserves. I got laid off from my Active Reserve job in October (funding issues), so now I just drill one weekend a month (as does DH). DH just lost his civilian job this morning It was a great job and he had been doing it for a decade. We will be okay, we have funds in savings and no car payments. Few recurring costs. Just sucks because he loved his job, and this is right before Christmas. We do not plan on telling SD until after Christmas.

Now- How will Child support play out? My DH will still have 800$ a month income from his reserve job. Should we contact attorney immediately to lower payments? DH has been paying 1,000$ a month plus half of daycare/medical since the divorce. He had this job while they were married. He is going to start looking for another job, but he's pretty shaken up today and I think he should take a couple weeks to clear his head, then start searching after Christmas.

I am pretty sure hex will be LIVID. She's a doctor and makes a fair amount of dough- however that 1,000$ a month was very nice for her. She is all about DH paying up to a "father" but doesn't want DH to spend any time with SD (that's another story).

So how long will it take to amend payments so CS goes down? Were any of yall in this situation where DH got laid off? How did hex react? Should he tell Dr Evil, or just go through the attorneys? I don't want SD to find out from hex that he got laid off and have her fill SD's head with crap.
