Gross Duet...need to bleach my brain now
Both DH and SD16 love to sing. DH has a very good voice. SD16 does when she sings in her range which is almost never. If we are in the car and DH and I are trying to talk about something, SD will start to belt out anything to drown us out. A lot of times DH and SD will sing together in the car...and sometimes I join in much to the dismay of SD.
On her last visit we three were in the car and SD asked to listen to a mixed CD that she brought. Sure, why not. The first couple songs were fine. Then a song that I was familiar with came on that I knew was very sexually suggestive. I'm not a prude, but I sure as hell don't want her singing it with me anywhere nearby. Not only does she start to belt it out, but DH joins in! So I sit there in stunned silence listening to my husband and SD16 sing about getting some, slappin' that, gettin' it good and whatnot. I look at DH with my infamous, 'WTF' look. He looks at me with his infamous, 'What's wrong?' look. I say, 'do you think this song is appropriate?' He says, 'I'm sure she's heard worse.' Me: "Yes, I'm sure she has but do you think singing it with her is appropriate?' He thinks for a second, then a look of "OMG" comes over his face and he skips to the next song on the CD. Of course SD whines, 'DAAAAADDDDYYYYYY....I love that song! Sing it with me!'
She just makes me cringe.

He actually introduced them to the song (her and SS11) he heard it on the radio and it made him think of them and he knew they would love it...... When I heard this I was like "OMFG are you SERIOUS???? Have you listened to *and understood* the lyrics????? That is just WRONG!"

I think men just don't listen
I think men just don't listen to the filth in these songs sometimes. I am constantly switching the station when we have SD7 in the car. Neither of her bioparents try to shelter her from those kinds of songs - in fact, at 3 years old she was singing along to "Buy you a draaaank!" I will say that *so far* I haven't had to deal with my DH and SD7 singing any sexual songs TOGETHER. I would probably lose it. :sick:
