"I'm bored" - Vent

Ugh!!!! Today is the first day of no school for a week and a half. I am NOT looking forward to being stuck in this house with these skids for that long!!!! It's only been 3 hours since they've gotten home from school and I've lost count at how many times I've heard "I'm bored"!!! I DON'T CARE!!!!! Why do they feel the need to come in the living room, sprawl on the couch and sigh and tell me "I'm bored". I am not their entertainer! These kids have iPhones, iPods, laptops, ps4's, xbox's and the list goes on and on. I hate how schools think kids need so many days ALL THE TIME!!!!
Lol! If I have another glass
Lol! If I have another glass of wine I might not be able to stop myself }:)
Oh how im going through the
Oh how im going through the same thing! What I do is, tell them a list of things that needs to be done in the house (cleaning chores etc) and just like magic, they're not bored anymore lol
Try and put them to work as
Try and put them to work as suggested above. It shuts them up every time. Another alternative is to shove them out the door and tell them not to come back until dark. When Daddy finds out maybe he'll be furious then you can tell him you're not the babysitter and the kids need to be sent to day camp.
I had an excellent teacher
I had an excellent teacher when I was in about 8th grade who used to tell us kids that "it's not boring" - it's just "people who say I'm bored are boring." I remember that stuck with me...even as a kid. It's up to you (as a child) to entertain yourself. He made it clear that there are tons of things for kids to do - find interest in - it's simply boring people, who are bored. I like the comment of saying "I'm bored" back though... "you all bore me." That's hilarious. But I think the putting them to work idea is your best option. You'll see how quickly they shut up about being bored. }:)
