What do you do for Easter?

MrsFitMama's picture

Trying to create new traditions and see what everyone has to adapt to when it comes to holidays. I find it hard to come into a new family and implement my traditions... I feel like I'm "intruding."

Is your SO resistent or open to new traditions?

DH is really open to my traditions. He's just generally a pretty laid back dude.

For Easter we do the whole Easter Basket thing, but I only buy for the kids that are actually going to be here. If the skids are at the BMs' houses for the weekend, their BM can buy for them, and I don't double up on it.

My Christian go to High Tea on Saturday and Sunrise Service with an aunt on Sunday. My other kids observe feasting here at home. DH has never rocked the boat about any of that, but he has asked that some of his favorite aspects of his Winter HOliday traditions from his childhood be incorporated into our traditions. He's super supportive as far as backing me up to the BMs, too. We aren't all the same faith, so for the first few years holidays were tricky, but it's starting to smooth out.
