Am I expecting too much?

Hello

I hope someone can help and offer me some advice.

I have 2 step kids, one girl who is 15 and a boy who is 13 in September. There is no issue with the boy but the teenage girl is causing come tension in the family. We also have an eight month baby who as you can imagine is a little time consuming to say the least!

There are people on this site who can give you great advice - but you need to provide some more detail. How do you think you might be expecting too much?

I guess the expecting too much bit is down to thinking that a teenage girl will and should help out with what I'm asking for. Am I expecting too much for her to do things with less argument and do it more willingly? That's my question really. Also should I expect my husband to enforce a bit more discipline by putting in consequences?

Sorry I wrote a long five paragraph description when I wrote this forum and I think it's deleted most of it!

Can you see anymore than that first paragraph? That's probably why it sounds vague.

I can only see first paragraph and one comment from you. Please try again.

It really depends on what you are expecting from her. Typical things like doing the dishes, cleaning up after herself, cleaning her room....are all fine. Expecting her to do stuff like looking after the baby for examplex no,no,no.

Dear Stepmumsouthwest,
Teenage girls, especially at age 15 are horrible, evil creatures! They never do ANYTHING helpful of their own free will, nor without a fight.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS FIGHT!

Sincerely,
