I struggle all the time with stepparenting. I have one 14 y/o stepdaughter who I got when I married 4 years ago. I love my husband very much but this is a huge challenge. I came to him with no baggage, moved, gave up family, friends, a 27 year successful career, converted to his religion, changed banks...changed everything and he had to do NOTHING. Now I have his daughter to deal with - as far as kids go she is aces - straight A student, charming, witty, nice, kind, really the model child.
