Am I overreacting??

CompletelyPuzzled's picture

Of course, I give DH a good job post and then this happens. I have to ask. Did I overreact to this? I asked DH what he is going to do with SDs this weekend. I have to work on Saturday. His answer, "I thought I could cuddle up and watch movies with them." At this point, I was confused because our living room is packed with boxes. We are moving in 2 weeks. So I asked him about it. Turns out, he thought it would be okay for him to have the SDs come in our room and watch movies with them on our bed!! Uh hell no, DH! I am working Saturday morning (3 A.M.

Way to go DH

I am so proud of DH. My MIL called to talk to DH about Christmas. She told him that BM is angling to be invited to Christmas dinner. According to MIL, BM is only willing to let the SDs come to Christmas dinner if BM, BigWeirdo (her husband), and there other 3 kids can attend. DH told MIL in no uncertain terms that he will not show up if she invites them. I was so happy. His exact words, "That is disrespectful to me and especially to my wife." MIL told DH that she hadn't invited them, but wanted him to know. DH got off the phone with MIL and called BM.

Sorry to burst your bubble

Yesterday, I think I caught DH off guard with some news. He has a job interview today that he is really excited about. It makes alot more money than his current job. However, it has an evening schedule. I work nights, as well. My kids go to school/daycare during the school year. And, they go to camp/daycare during the summer. ExH and I each pay a portion of the costs. Well, DH was talking about how excited he was to have SDs next summer. He said, "If I have this job, it will work out so great. I will be at work while SDs are sleeping. I can spend my days with them."

BM rubbing off on SD10

DH and I have gone back and forth about getting a cell phone for SD10 and SD7 to talk to DH while at BM's house. The girls spent the summer with us. But before that, BM had her cell phone shut off. And despite the CO stating that DH has the right to talk to the girls every day, he wasn't able to talk to them for over 3 weeks. Neither of us wants to get them a cell phone because we know BM will use it. It's ridiculous that she can't afford her phone. She gets 1/3 of DH's wages, plus government assistance and her husband works.

All she does is sleep all day

So the SDs are going back to BM's house tomorrow. Yay! I have been counting down the days. Not that the kids were bad. I am just ready for the routine of the school year to start. However, BM has decided to start her crap early. Apparently, she spoke to SD10 on the phone today. And, she asked SD10 where Completely was. SD10 told her the truth that I was upstairs sleeping. Well about 2 hours later, DH gets the following email:

So ready for summer to be over...

I am putting this here because I feel like I can't say it to anyone else. I am so ready for summer to be over. I am looking forward to the SDs going back home. There, I said it. It's not that they are bad kids. And, I will miss them. But, I am ready to have my house back!!! I haven't been able to watch TV in my own living room for weeks because the SDs are permanently parked on my couch. Plus, I work nights so it is difficult to sleep during the day when they are here. And yes, I really want time with my DH back.

BM is in a bad place???

As I have previously blogged, BM refuses to take her daughter to the dentist. So I had to take her and pay to have a tooth pulled. We asked BM to take her to the dentist in her home state to get a root canal done because we can't get an appointment before the SDs go back home. BM refused so DH and I are planning a trip to their home state so we can take her to the dentist. It is a huge expense. So you can imagine my anger when my DH received a call yesterday from BM's grandma. She called to tell DH that BM is in a hard place and she needs help.

No I won't take SD to the dentist!

BM is such a complete b****! I am furious. I just paid out of pocket to have a tooth pulled for SD10. SD10's gums are infected so he gives her antibiotics and talks to her about brushing her teeth. She tells him that their mom refuses to buy toothbrushes at her house because her little sister always hides them. So the dentist actually gave her 5 toothbrushes, one for her and one for each of her siblings. DH had the SDs step out of the room and he explained the situation to the dentist. And the dentist was furious. He offered to talk to BM.

It just all boiled over!

DH and I had a major argument this morning. I am not really sure over what. It all started when he got up and made my bios breakfast. They wake up at a decent hour and were hungry. I work nights and was still on the clock. I took a break and came downstairs to help him. My kids wanted chocolate milk so I got it for them. His daughters weren't even awake yet! So I go upstairs and finally get off work. I put my BD2 in bed with me and am laying down when he comes in the room. All of a sudden we hear SD8 screaming. So I get up and run downstairs.

I am so tired of whining!

I really just need to rant so I apologize if this is a disorganized mess. But the truth is that I am so f***ing sick of hearing my SDs whine. If I hear, "ddddddaaaaaaddddddddddyyyyyyy!" one more time this summer, I am going to lose it. Today, I finally had enough. I turned to SD10 and said, "SD10, you are 10 years old. Stop whining. You whine more than BD2." I actually feel bad for saying that, but I just lost my temper. This girl has done nothing but whine and throw a fit the entire time she has been here.
