120 Degree Turn Around

OK, so all is better already.

SD12 will not be spending the night with a friend, so DP gets kudos for that.
She'll just get to spend the afternoon/dinner there.

The shopping trip is still on.

DP reimbursed me for a purchase for SD12, no complaining.

He still has to get new shoes and a swimsuit for SD10, which he's put off for several days now. SD10 showed me last night where her shoe is starting to come apart. DP was sitting right there. I turned to him and asked if he had ordered those shoes. Nope. He was too busy, too tired. WTH? Your daughter NEEDS new shoes. What is wrong with BM and DP? Seriously, you can see her shoe falling apart! I'm going dang well make sure that we go to a shoe shop while out on Saturday.

Funny story:

Driving with SD10 the other day...she's telling me about the research on a woman scientist for a school project...and she says, "She died at age 47."
OH, ok, she was young.
"Yes. She died in a bathtub. How do you die in a bathtub?"
Well....pause...maybe she fell asleep taking a bath?
"Yeah, but still, how...?"
You know, you get relaxed in a bathtub. And people can drown in as little as 3" of water.
"....And she wasn't even in her own bathtub. She was at a HOTEL! The people at the hotel didn't see her leave the room so they had to break in to find her!"

Apparently DP had helped her do more research and she found this article. DP did realize the content, which is fine, but the allusion to suicide seems to have evaded him as well. My answer satisfied her - I don't think she was ready to hear about the suicide option.

AND...
DP was at SD12's school conference yesterday.
Said part of one of her recent projects for a humanities class, I think, was identifying who was important and influential for you (family member, friends, etc.). She name ME. Wow. DP was so proud, "She didn't name me or her mom but YOU, Cover1, as a very important person in her life. That's amazing."

HA!
We're talking a socialite in the 1950s so may be a similar situation involving a lot of pills and alcohol. At least this woman accomplished a lot!
