DH told SD26 "No"

SD26 is still lingering in our area like a bad smell. She is not coming to our house because she's mad that the last time she was here I laid down a boundary and firmly told her "No, you can't boss me around in my own house."

SD asked DH to meet-up with her today to do something together. DH told her no. Let the gnashing of teeth and tearing of clothes in despair begin!

Dh told me he doesn't want to deal with traffic, or her, today. He is worried she won't take no for an answer and will badger him about the what's and why's. 

So far so good - small annoyances

YSD26 is still ligering in the area, housesitting. DH spent a day out with her. I did not ask quesitons. For example,  "Was she a complete brat?" I don't need to know. And if they had a nice time, I don't need to know that either. I don't want to hear it. I know that I won't get the real story anyway because DH wears his rose colored glasses, most of the time, until he has had enough and finally reaches a breaking point.

We just recieved word that SD26 is staying nearby our city tonight. She's driving here from BM's neighboring state. SD will be housesitting in a neighboring town until sometime in July.

She tends to act coy, smugly withholding her itinerary from DH. I am not sure what makes her think that we care about her schedule? Who cares, but it does show what a punishing b*tch she is to DH. BM was the same and taught her to be like this. 

It has been quiet around here (Knock on wood!)

Last year, out-of-the-blue, Step-diablas (26&28) started to "drop in" for extended-stay visits with DH and I. These visits lasted anywhere from 1-3 weeks at a time. They came and went, on and off, for nearly a year. Upon her 1st arrival, YSD made a passive aggressive, snotty demand to DH that I should prepare her special meals.

I realize the following is probably just everyday, typical BS in step-hell but it still feels outrageous. 

So here is what happened: DH and I were having a chat about how far we've come (nearly 20 years together) and where we are now and so on and so forth, when out of the blue, he tells me that last year OSD28 asked him to spend 4 weeks with her traveling, just the two of them, OVER CHRISTMAS. He said he turned her down, for obvious reasons. The audacity of these SDiablas has no bounds.

SD's 28&26 are still traveling outside of the USA although OSD has split off and gone her own way and left YSD on her own. I completely thought YSD would crash and burn immediately, so I have been pleasantly surprised that as far as I know, she is getting by on her own. After months of ongoing, unannounced SD "pop-ins," these past few months have been pure bliss. NO SD drama. For those of you wondering, "Is this step-hell all worth it?" THIS is the time one waits for. 

What are the SDiablas29&27 up to? In case you were wondering?

Despite my desire to fully NGAF (or be ambivalent) about SDiablas comings and goings, I still ruminate about how much they annoy the crap out of me more than I want to. Hopefully getting it all out here and commiserating will help me let it go!

So here's the latest news. OSD29 and YSD27 stay out of the country will soon be coming to an end. 

DH relayed to me that OSD will be continuing on her travels alone. Thank-the-heavens! bye bye

BUT YSD27 is coming back to our home town. Why? 2 stupid reasons.

Mini-Update

You all may remember that the diablas26&28 left the USA to live in a foreign country for 3 months. OSDiabla and YSDiabla moved into an apartment together. It would be entertaining to be a fly on the wall watching those two fight it out in a shared space. Both are so self-centered, blame everyone else for all of their problems, take no personal responsiblity and are hell bent on everything being "fair." I am sure they labor and nit-pick over every little minute detail. Both are screamers and YSD is a biter and hitter.

Ding Dong the Diablas 29&27 are Gone

Praise be sweet mother of god, the Sdiablas have offically left the country. They hung around our home on and off over the Summer and Fall "like a fart that lingers." Since they are both transcient I was afraid they'd be stinking, I mean staying, over the Winter and Spring as well. It is a big relief that they are far, far away for at least a little while.
