Update number 2..

The school got the annonymous report this morning and called both SD and GWR down to the office. They seperated them and began to ask questions.

this is the account according to SD...

She was waiting in outer office to enter the Asst. Principal's office and over heard the resource office talking to GWR.

The resource officer asked GWR if he knew why he was there.  Of course GWR said he didn't.  The RO informed him was suspected of being involved in inappropriate text messages to another student.

GWR immediately replied..this is bull shit.  It was prank to my sister..I didn't know my friend would send something like that.  It's bullshit and was getting madder and madder.  Then....GWR asks..Can I call my mom?? (smh...he is almost 19 and his first instinct is to call Mommy.  Interesting because when I was 18/19 the last thing I wanted was anyone calling my parents for ANYTHING).  At that age...DH was in the Navy...needless to say the Navy didn't call DH"s mommy when he was in trouble.

SD then got called into the Asst. Principals office and they had a female officer there as well.  They told SD someone had reported the text messages/phone calls on the annonymous tip line and they wanted to hear from her.  She told them the story, showed them the text messages with the phone numbers, the message from her brother saying he knew about it and it was "a joke"  and the messages she sent to her mother.

The AP and female officer listened to her and told her she wasn't in trouble and that they would be dealing with the "boys" regarding this matter. They asked her to fill out a statement.  They were conerned that her phone number was given to other other people besides the ones they know about and that other's have heard this "prank" and that this would be rumor being spread around school.  That despite GWR saying they didn't give out to anyone else, they and SD have no way of knowing if that is true.  That this incident would be put on record and dealt with.

As she was filling it out she heard the RO talking to the female office saying that he didn't believe a word that GWR was saying.  That GWR got mad way to quick to be innocent and that GWR was acting like a'hole.  (not sure if that is true or not but it does sound like the GWR).  The female officer replied that she believed SD was telling the truth and had copies of the text messages and the phone numbers and that they would be contacting all involved.

As SD was leaving the office, the RO and GWR were on the phone with "Mommy".....

Not sure what the school or the police will do with this..but at least SD knows that "someone" was looking out for her.  She was happy that someone believed her about her brother, besides me and DH.    SD does not know that I was the one that called or that I knew.  She just knows someone called and knew it wasn't her dad because they knew about the sex act part and she didn't tell her Dad that part.  We asked SD who she told and she told three of her friends.  SD even surmised that maybe one her friends parents called and made the tip.

DH will call the school tomorrow and get more details.

If Beaver won't stand up for SD...I will...albiet covertly.

Called the office administrator about some kids bullying a friend of Munchkins, something to do with slamming her fingers.

The office admin knew the kids involved - it had happened before.

I wasnt going to tell SDnow14 (she was around 11ish), because I thought that would betray her trust in me keeping secrets.

I thought "this is a teaching moment". I told her what I had done. I wanted her to know it was me, and that doing the right thing might be hard most of the time, but she needs to do it anyway.

Great job with tipping off. Do you think you will tell her it was you? So she knows that you will step up to the plate for her, and that you will not stand back and let things happen?

I'm sure Beaver and GWR already will be squawking that it is either me or DH.  If SD doens't know then she won't be subject to even more crap from those two.

I know that when she goes back to Beaver on Friday..Beaver and GWR will make this about SD getting GWR in trouble.  That this is all DH's fault..or mine.

I think it is best that she just doesn't know that it was me that reported.  Plausable deniability.

Bravo! And you didn't blow your cover as SD doesn't know you have access to her convos.

He should let school know that he should have been called too.

Job well done though! I would have done the same.

Edit: This is a small rant but,  that I feel schools think they are doing their job by calling a single parent. In the society we live in, it wouldn't hurt to look at kid's files and see parents are divorced and to contact BOTH parents in any given situation.

CLove's picture

yes. With a national 50% divorce rate, what are the chances that kiddo has an intact family??????

This was EXACTLY my first thought, especially since both kids are related.

Halo, I'll be interested in hearing the answer about how a minor was able to give a statement to police and the parents weren't notified.

MissK03's picture

I feel like that's probably common with these school officers.
I could see that happening at skids high school.

Does not make it right though!

I'm hoping the school will also be contacting the parents to keep them informed of what is going on...don't they know kids don't tell their parents sh*t...lol.
You did the right thing, especially since if you didn't and GWR got away with this it would set a precedence for him in the future.

Hope GWR is suspended. He should be and just because they are siblings he must be held accountable as though they are not.

Hey, brothers are normally very protective of their sisters. Are they blood related? For real?

I am so glad the school is taking this seriously. I feel so bad for your SD!

At her age I would have been terrified that one of them would have taken things beyond txt messages and tried to force me to do something against my will.
