What is the fair thing to do?

Dh and I got in a discussion last night, he wanted to plan a cruise for next year. He wants to go for 7 days, I said ok, but we'd have to take MiniMarine, his Dad won't take him for that long and get him to and from school. (I am BM to MiniMarine) He said, well if we take him then I have to take Whinerina and Gastapo. I said why? Why do you HAVE to take them? DH said well, it's something they'd enjoy and it's not fair to take MiniMarine and not them. I said well, they go on vacations all the time without MiniMarine. They are STEPsiblings, not all living in the same house.

How shocking...Whinerina is sick again

This is a continuation of my blog about being able to say no to SK's coming over sick, FishNchip continues to send them over anyway and I am expected to just deal with it. "If they're on antibiotics they're not contagious, so Henny will just have to deal with it"..yeah. thanks, and that isn't neccesarily true. So last week Whinerina comes over and with a note for us to go P/U her cough medicine at the pharmacy..I was annoyed but kept to myself..what ever, doesn't matter what I say anyway, I stay away let him deal with her and coughing all night. He slept on the couch with her.

Oh, Pardon me. I didn't mean to be in the way since I am a nobody

So...my DH's step daughter from his first marriage that we continue to take on his visitation weekends had a school talent show last night. I went with DH at his and her request. I knew it would be uncomfortable, and boy was I right. FishNchip gets there with SD comes and sits with us, which is fine, her hair is a mess! falling in her eyes..(one of my pet peeves) so I fixed it, put in in little pony tail so she could see! Then BM's family gets there, they all come down to say hi to DH and SD...they reach in front of me to shake hands, pat SD head and won't even LOOK at me.

what the hell is my problem

ok self...you know we have the SK every wednesday, you talk to yourself all day, talk yourself up to be excited and happy when you get home. Make plans in your head to have a nice night with them, even stop to get cookie dough to bake cookies. yup, driving home quite smitten with self, park, think how happy the kids will be to do cookies, open door...and immediately I am in a sour mood. why? why do I do this. No one did anything, no one said anything, no one is arguing. Am I just that much of a bit$%?

Should I be able to say NO!?

I am so tired of FishNchip sending her kids over sick! I have talked to DH about it and we agreed they would not be sent over here sick all the time because then my son gets it and who needs to get a household sick. But...once again...he won't stand up to her and just explain why. She wants her "free nights" so we get the sick, whiney, up all night kids. I am SO tired of it. and these kids are sick ALL THE TIME! I swear. I know, being a nurse, that these kids should not be sick the way they are. Maybe her house is dirty, or the day care, but something isn't right.

frustrated again

So, in January I bought tickets to see a concert that DH wanted to see for May 1st. Today he tells me he has to look for a babysitter for that night since it's his weekend. I told him we didn't have to do that, I would get my mom to watch my DS and his parents would keep his DD. He says, well what about SSD. I use SSD since it's his step daughter from his first marriage that he continues to take out of obligation and "it's easier than arguing with BM" even though it's not his BD. His parents don't want to take her and she doesn't even know my mother.

A little different scenario

Well, I find myself here...a step mother...and quite confused. I can't say the children are horrible, or the BM is completely crazy. They aren't. My issue is I am a SM to 2 girls; one son of my own 10. SD 5 is my DH's daughter. SD 10 is his SD from his first marriage. He continues to take FULL parental responsibility for a child that is not his, legally or biologically. I find I am getting resentful for the continued financial burden of having to take this other child EOW and Wednesdays over night.
