So lawyer advice
When we hired this lawyer she promised us all kinds of results. Second pretrial, basically NOTHING is being changed, except that psychopantsbitchface ex wife publicly badmouthed both DH and me in a court of law, told a judge Dh didn't care about the kids etc etc, which was not relevant anyway. All we wanted was to change the visitation schedule. As soon as we had the info from the kids daycare it was clear that what we wanted was not possible at this time. My question, why didn't our lawyer get this info right away? Why did she let us drag this out and go into huge debt?

Suggestions on good childrens books?
I specifically need some to deal with WHINING and SELFISHNESS. I remember some book about the "gimme gimme's" as a kid, but can't remember the name! I also loved the Orchard Cat by Steven kellog, but it's out of print now. The Skids are 6 and 8, 6 is worse at sharing, and whining, but they could both use a whining lesson. Also, any books that deal with fibbing, they aren't too bad about lying but they do casually fib about stuff (dumb stuff! Like did you put your socks on? "Yes" and you can see them running around sockless!) .

Really want straight answers please!
My DH is really struggling. He lost his job around Thanksgiving, and though he got a few temp things since then, he's in financial dire straits, and he's freaking out. He has been paying WAY TOO MUCH CS, for years, on top of giving Bitchface money whenever she screamed/threatened(we put a stop to that at least)but only just started the process to amend the CS. We are waiting to get that settled and have a realistic CS payment. In the meantime, he has been making all the CS payments until last week.

The day after Xmas
We had a serious discussion with the Skids about things. Prompted by a huge temper tantrum and meltdown. But the SS6 started crying "I want my life back! I just want my old life back!" Ah-ha, the clues. So ultimately, he admitted he wanted mom and dad and his brother to all live together again, and his BM has been telling him that DH left her, and it is (of course) all DH's fault. This is not true. In fact, DH tried desperately to save their marriage while BM had an affair, and tried to gold-dig with some former boyfriends.

Happy dance!
skids go home in the morning! Usually we get along well, but this was not a good visit! Whining whining whining! But today ss6 drew me a picture that said "I love Kattkatt" with hearts all over it, so that was sweet. Almost makes up for him being a giant turd for the last six days! Lol... Xmas is such a set-up for disappointment in kids. Too much greed and candy. So glad we don't do xmas next year!

Heart palpatations
I get this sick heart fluttery jump every time the BM calls, even if it's really nothing! Blah, awful.

Wow, understanding the desire to murder the skids now...
Xmas this year has been hellish. DH lost his job right around thanksgiving, and got a temp job a couple weeks later that ended on xmas eve. We have the skids this year, and BM has been a giant shit(not really a shock, why should she suddenly be nice just because it's christmas?!). Now xmas is hard on kids, and the skids are young, 6&8, and BM told us she was "not doing xmas at ALL" with the kids because they would be with us. So no pressure, but if we don't make it a good xmas that's all the kids get.
Does adjusting CS have to go to court?
It seems kind of like a huge waste of time, does adjusting child support have to go to court? If you are making a third less than you were or you got laid off, what happens?

A freaking DS
sS8 wants a Nintendo DS. Yeah, yeah, all the kids want one. BM first told DH he was FORBIDDEN to get SS a DS. Ok, fine, no DS. Then BM was going on and on about how DH PROMISED SS8 a DS and MUST get it, but BM will only allow him to play with it for one houe on weekends, when he could be playing with the freaking Wii or his tablet (kid has too many freaking pieces of crap). So DH had decided not to get it, because BM was being nuts about it, but then she got nuts about it in reverse, made a big deal, so FINE, HE'LL BUY IT. and she's still not happy.

SS8- in tears- "BM says she's sending DH to jail! dH is my favorite person!"
Ss6 called this AM to tell DH he wanted "to come live with you for always", and this afternoon DH talked to SS8 who sobbed that mommy told them she was sending DH to jail, and DH is SS8's favorite person in the whole world, and he is super upset! BM claims she has "no idea" why the kids would think that she was trying to send DH to jail.
Lol. I know what the thought process was, and i can guess what she said to her fiance, in front of the kids.
