Step-mom arrested in Colorado case

The step-mom has been arrested in the missing child case in Colorado. This was discussed in an earlier blog about 11 year old Gannon Stauch who was reported missing in January. Even though I was hoping it wasn't her, I figured it was only a matter of time until she was arrested. Authorities are not releasing any details, but she will be charged with first degree murder and tampering with a body (which has still not been found.)

A mom in Hudsonville, MI was arrested for misdemeanor theft for taking her daughter's cell phone away after she got in trouble at school. Her ex-husband made a theft report, and for some reason she was arrested instead of being issued a ticket. She was released on a $200 bond. She said the phone belonged to her daughter, as the ex-husband gave it to her for a Christmas present.

A few minutes into the trial the prosector agreed that the phone belonged to the girl and not the father, and all charges were dropped.

Mary Tyler Moore has died

I don't usually cry over the death of a celebrity. However, I did when Carrie Fischer died and I just did again when I read about Mary Tyler Moore.

Her show was a big part of my teenage years. She introduced me to feminism and made me realize I was "gonna make it after all."

I wish her God Speed...

I can't believe it - Glenn Fry died. He has been battling Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia and died from complications.

He was my favorite Eagle and was in my favorite episode of Miami Vice: Smugglers Blues.

Sat Night Live Family Feud Sketch

Did anyone catch the Family Feud Sketch on SNL last night? One family was a woman and her 3 kids, and the other family was her ex-husband and his new wife and 2 step kids.

It had a couple of laugh out loud moments - but otherwise I had mixed feelings.

Tracy Morgan did a great job - glad he seems to be recovering from the car accident.

Father asks Step-Father to also walk Bride

A Bio-Dad briefly stopped the wedding ceremony to ask the Step-Dad to also walk his daughter down the aisle. Step-Dad was surprised and started to cry. Bio-Dad admitted the last 14 years had not always gone smoothly, but said it was the right thing to do as the Step-Dad had also raised her. There are stories about it from several sources. Check out the picture - you can see the emotions in both their faces.

No mention that I could find if there is a Step-Mom or if she was included in any special way.

Graduation Gift?

Quick background. DH has been divorced for 7 years, SS30, SS 28, and SD17. Ugly divorce, kids all took BM’s side. Due to PAS, daughter wanted very little to do with DH for several years. About a year ago BM got evicted and she and SD17 were not getting along. SD17 had one more year of school and really wanted to move in with her boyfriend. Instead, we took her in. The CO was modified so DH no longer paid child support and BM did not start paying it either.
