Dh is competitive with me over the kids

onstrike's picture

Does anyone have a situation where whenever their biokid accomplishes something or gets a compliment,dh has to point out something real or imagined that skid did. It is so predictable in my house. Can my bs just enjoy his achievements? What does it take away from skid!?

Just say "that's great, but I wasn't talking about skid right now" and then carry on talking about bio. He obviously has some perceived competition of something in his mind, but if you say that enough times I'm sure he'll get the point eventually (hopefully lol)

Thankfully no in my home. No blowing smoke up anyone's butt in my home. You get praise cuz you earned it.

Big time. When my DS graduated from AF basic, Chef was so bitter as he WANTED DS to fail. Before he went to basic, Chef would constantly say "he's not going into the AF; he's just blowing smoke!
Meanwhile his useless underachieving brats kept right on failing school.

Thank God my bios are 10 plus years older than Chef's oldest so they were out of the house before Chef and his brats took over my life.

Chef criticized my son's High School because they didn't offer football. He then mocked out my son for being on the track team and the chess team.

HIS ginger/albino son was in football because he was forced to by his parents and then faked an injury to get out of it at the last minute. Which I got stuck with the co-pay because the BM refused to pay it.

Now Chef has two panty wasted (pun intended--pot fiends) sons and a butch daughter. Not that there's anything wrong with that. All three are complete academic failures filled with pipe dreams and going nowhere fast.

Yes. Constantly. It happens more for things SD does bad though... SD gets in trouble at school... and I hear about how BS3 did this one thing wrong one time. It's like she's trying to cover up the fact that SD is not a great kid by making the other one look bad.
