OT - Are childbirth classes necessary or helpful?

poisonapple's picture

DH and I are expecting twins late in the fall. The only childbirth classes offered at our hospital take place while we are both working. I asked my doc if the classes were necessary, and he didn't really give me a straight answer. I am considering purchasing a video online, but I wanted to ask around first to see if any of you have ever gone through childbirth classes, and if they were indeed necessary or helpful. Do any of you know of any online resources we can purchase so we don't have to miss work one day a week for three weeks?

OT - Maternity Swimwear?

poisonapple's picture

I am about four months pregnant with twins. My family and I are going to the beach at the beginning of next month, and I need to find a maternity swimsuit, preferably one that I don't have to refinance my house in order to afford. haha. Do any of you know where I can find a nice simple suit online? I looked at motherhood maternity and gap and old navy, and they all have very little to choose from.

What can I do to get loser ss25 to GROW UP and GET OUT?

poisonapple's picture

Ok so I've blogged about this before. Several times, actually. It's my 25 year old stepson. The guy is lazy beyond belief. Works part time, maybe 10-15 hours a week at a pizza shop. Gets paid under the table, so he's not even contributing to unemployment, Social Security, etc. DH and I have told him time and time again to look for a full-time job, or another part time job. He says he tries, but I think he's full of shit. The only thing he tries to do is keep DH and I off his ass about it. He pays no rent, utilities, cable, groceries, etc.

The FUNNIEST idea for SS25's Easter Basket

poisonapple's picture

SS25 is the laziest guy in the whole world. Works about ten hours a week at a pizza shop. College degree, but no drive WHATSOEVER to get a real job. Lives with DH and I, pays no rent, contributes nothing to the household. Lately has been doing sparatic chores when we tell him to, but even those take DAYS to complete. So I was talking to DH last night, and I asked him if we are supposed to prepare an Easter basket for the Stepkids. He said no. But as I was thinking about it, I thought it would be a hilarious idea to get a big basket, and fill it up with job applications.

Why do I have to walk on EGGSHELL'S because HE'S in a bad mood??

DH is having a rough time at work. He is the VP of a large manufacturing company, and he does his job well. He works very hard and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him for that. The trouble is, he's been in a foul mood for the past couple of days. And he's taking it out on me. We work at the same place. Granted, I am not nearly as high up on the food chain as he is, but I put up with the same crap from the same people, and yet I still manage to keep my cool with him. I understand why he's angry, he has ligitimate issues to be angry about.

OT - Has anyone ever gone through IVF with frozen embryo transfer?

poisonapple's picture

DH and I went through a fresh cycle of IVF last year. I got pregnant, but miscarried at 12 weeks. We were both devastated. He has three boys (all grown now) and I don't have any children. We decided to try again with frozen embryo transfer (I had 4 blastocysts frozen from my fresh cycle) and I was wondering if anyone out there has ever gone through this before. I am so nervous and I'm afraid I'm going to do something wrong and have another miscarriage.

OT - Any former cheerleaders out there??? I need your HELP!

poisonapple's picture

I'm trying to help my neice come up with a cheer for cheerleading tryouts. I never realized how hard this is - I've never cheered before. I can't seem to get anything to rhyme right, and my neice, who is 13, bless her heart, is TERRIBLE at creating cheers. I think she has the right idea, but they always end up looking and sounding.... Trashy. She always wants to put something in there about shaking her booty and thrusting her hips.

I think SS25 got the hint.... FINALLY!

poisonapple's picture

After days of DH and I being on SS25's ass about not having a job and basically being a lazy bum, I think ss25 got the hint that I'm tired of seeing his lazy ass lounging around my house. I called him around noon on Friday (I had to call about ten times before he finally picked up the phone, because he was still in bed) and told him that when DH and I got home from work Friday night, SS25 would be cleaning the bathroom CORRECTLY, with my supervision. I knew he did not want to do this, and I figured he would just leave the house to avoid the chore all together. And I was right.

I hate to do this, but it's time for the BITCH in me to rear her ugly head on SS25. GET READY FOR THE THUNDER!!!

As many of you know, DH and I had a little heart to heart conversation with SS25 a week ago today. I took from our conversation that he was going to get off his ass and look for a job. And he did that. For one whole day. Now it's back to laying around on his ass again while DH and I both work two jobs and pay all of the household expenses. So obviously, the heart to heart didn't work. Kicking him out is not an option, as he has no place to go. Giving him lists of chores as if he were 12 years old didn't work, because he doesn't do them, or he does them half way.
