Step-Parents Discipling Child while Parent Present

Should step-parents be able to discipline the child when the other parent is there? For example, at a ball game the other night the step-dad disciplined my SS while his BF was there watching the game. We both felt it was something that needed to be addressed, basically just telling a 4 year old to not fight over the ball with his teammates, but neither myself or his BF would have done it during the game by yelling at him through the fence.

Step-Parents called Mom/Dad

I am just wanting a general feel for how others react to this. I have been around since my SS was 1 month old. His BM would not allow for BF to see him so we ended up taking her to court to establish visitation and set up our child support payments through the clearinghouse. When my SS was a little over a year old he called me mom a couple of times on a weekend visitation. We corrected him and told him what name to call me by, just out of respect for her being his BM. When my SS was 3, last year, his BM got married to a man that she had been dating/known for 5 months.

Need Serious Advice

Hello. I am a soon to be step-mother of a 4 year old boy. I have been in a relationship with this father since the son was a month old, and have been close to this father for several years before that time. It has not always been easy, but we make it alright. We are planning on starting our own family once we are married in a couple of months so some things have been drawn to the light that I had overlooked before.
