Done with not stepping on BM's toes...

So for the past five years, I have been trying to "stay in my place" as a stepmom. Not step on BM's toes, not take over, respect her role as SD's mom. I never try to do things I think her mom should do, as when I have children, I wouldn't want anyone coming in and doing the things I want to do with my kids. I would want my kids stepmom to respect the fact that they DO have an active mother in their life.

That all ends now.

I first came on here about six or seven months ago, after lurking for quite a while. Back then, the atmosphere was a helluva lot different, and more helpful, at the point that I joined.

What nasty attitudes!

It's been a while since I have posted/commented on ST regularly, but in popping in every now and then to read, I must say some of you stepmoms on here have some of the nastiest attitudes/comments I have ever seen.

Happy...

I got a few PMs from people asking me how I was doing. I am good. I am happy.

My husband has been treating me wonderfully, Gasolina has actually been stepping up and keeping her daughter when she is supposed to for a change, my in-laws are a dull roar in the background, and Gasolina is back there with them. (Of course, she still says/does dumb shit but I have been largely ignoring it for the past week).

I am happy, and I hope all of my friends here are too.
