Where is the Justice?
One of the guys who works for me is 44.
He has a teenage son.
His son is in the foster care system for Pennsylvania state.
When his son was 4 months old, his ex girlfriend moved there with the child. He came home from work and they were gone.
He tried to contact her and eventually she responded with "All I ever wanted from you was a child."
Classic Baby Doll Syndrome.
So for the past 14 years he has been saving up what he thought he should pay her for child support that she refused and I think he could afford to send this kid to Harvard.
He requested a paternity test and she refused.
Long story short, she wants nothing to do with him.
As an employee, he is a hard worker, honest and sincere. He is skinny and frail but an emotionally strong person. He puts forth 100% effort in all he does (sounds like a letter of recommendation). He isn't very good at delegating because he feels like he has to prove his worth all the time.
I consider myself somewhat "psychic" about character - I can normally sense liars, thieves, manipulators (those are HARD TO TELL TOO) and he doesn't come across as one.
I would say his biggest downfall is he gambles using the stock market but in the 4 years I have known him, no issues.
So, WHY DOES A FOSTER CARE SYSTEM HAVE HIM AND NOT THIS GENTLEMAN?
Oh, and his ex is in jail for selling drugs and child endangerment.

In our case the BM has told
In our case the BM has told everyone that my BF abuses the kids and that he is a drug addict. It is highly possible that she has lied by saying she doesn't know where the father is, or that he is not worthy in some way.
Has the man tried to get custody of the boy? What is he doing to get placement?
He tried about two years ago
He tried about two years ago but the foster care system told him the mother still has rights.
I think if he could swing
I think if he could swing that paternity test he may have more legal rights to the boy… that crazy woman may not even have listed him on the birth certificate! It makes me so darn sad to hear things like this… all these kids running around BEGGING for a father figure and here’s a stand up guy who’s being denied the chance to even try.
Poor kid… he sounds like he’s missing out on a great dad.
I agree MCSM, I think the
I agree MCSM, I think the paternity test is key to this situation. It would probably be in his best interest to consult with an attorney, if for no other reason than to find out what his rights are, especially given the situation with the BM.
