Again!

We had our Easter dinner yesterday and wouldn't you know it, Mr. (Not So) Neutral,  one of Chef's older half brothers, decides to just pop in with no notification.   I cook elaborate holiday meals with specific timing so, of course this put me on the spot.

He stopped in on the off chance that he could visit with Chef, who was working on one of the rental properties a half an hour away under a deadline as the permit on the gut rehab of the 2700+ sq foot duplex expires the end of May.

He said he was in the neighborhood and decided to pop in (ninja style) after he had finished work for the day (he works for a waste management company in Girhippoville).

As I was trying to make awkward conversation he started dozing off on the sofa!  As a side note, Mr. (Not so) Neutral only comes around if he wants something so his plans were probably somewhat foiled by Chef not being there.

I was rescued by the arrival of Awesomeson, DIL and DGD.  Mr. (NS) Neutral mercifully took this as a queue to exit.  Very sweet DIL said "don't leave on our account."  Mr. (NS) Neutral said he had to get going anyway as he was about to get some Easter egg dye for his grandchildren.

I kind of polished a turd by saying "it's a country thing to just pop in unannounced."

I told Chef about the "visit" and for the first time ever, he sounded annoyed at the ninja!

I can't tell you how many time DH's brother has popped in unannounced or with a 15 min heads up and it's always at dinner time so either I have to stretch what I made to feed him or let our meal sit in the oven and over cook until he leaves!!!

Adult niece arrived unannounced and calls my hubby at work to say she was in front of the house and to open the gate. My husband calls ss to tell him to open the door for his cousin who comes in with her tantrumy psycho 4 yr old who has such horrible meltdowns & loves to smack and scratch babies on their eyes because its funny to her.

i had minimal sleep and my daughter had just fallen asleep, i'm in a singlet and shorts, haven't showered.

after she left i lost it with my husband this is not to ever happen again. I don't do unannounced visitors because they're not wanted and its rude. That his grand niece had scratched our daughters eyes and laughed about it along with he mum whilst i was busy making her bottle.

shocker that some people don't understand proper etiquette and manners.
nobody wants an "everybody loves raymond" scenario where the bil and mil repeatedly come over uninvited
