SS14.

For months and months and months that flipping kid has been using wet wipes as Kleenex for his nose.

*take a wipe, wipe once, throw it away* Lather. Rinse. Repeat. He'll use 4-8 wipes in one session, barely wiping his nose. DH and I find bunches of wipes thrown away in the bathrooms' little bins. Clean, empty, barely used wipes...so we know what has happened.

DH found 3 wet wipes out in the back yard. Calls SS downstairs and says "have you been throwing these out the bathroom window?" SS: Uh huh.

HE USED THE WIPES FOR HIS NOSE AND THEN THREW THEM OUT THE BATHROOM WINDOW!!

Folks he has to stand right by the toilet paper to do this! He has a box of men's size Kleenex in his room. But lets keep using the wipes and them throw them out the window.

F*&%ing bleeding idiot. I could kill. Flip sakes!!!!!!

They are regularly used...if you know what I mean. Disposed of in the little bins.

I refuse to toddler proof the house for a teenager. Just like a toddler he will learn what he can and cannot touch/do/use, etc.

We'd have to hide or lock up half the dang house!

If it was just about wipes, I would agree. But Granny and Echo - I would have to lock up or hide half of the household. Literally! He eats too much food, uses too much shampoo without even being clean. Same with shower gel. Puts too much ketchup or salt on food. Scoops mounds of ice cream into a huge bowl and eats it. Takes too much money off of the side for school lunches. Sneaks food (used to, think we cracked that one). Would wear thick jogging trousers under his school uniform trousers if we let him.

The list goes on and on and on. Yes, it is half he's a lazy, irritating, hormone-ing teenager. Also partially to do with being on the autistic spectrum. Not much of an idea of moderation and self limitation concept....with a whole lot of L-A-Z-Y rolled in for sure!

We would literally have to keep the entire house on rations. We are trying to teach him moderation, appropriate behaviour, etc. Even if it's by the sheer fact of not wanting to get into trouble. He has to be taught or, at least, it becomes a habit.

He has to learn or we'd literally be hiding and locking things up for the rest of his life. Somewhat understandable at 14. Ridiculous and indulgent into his 20's...30's... Then who will do it when he's older? Who will ration him and keep an eye on him 24/7. His poor GF or wife? Following him around like a baby? His house mates? His boss and co-workers? Lawdy knows BM2 wouldn't be of any use.

Things at least need to be a habit or learned behaviour. He DOES have the capability of learning these things, even if he dearly loves to act like a tree stump.

OMG I would kill. I swear they have no common sense.

SS14 used to flush the wipes down the toilet too. Except half the time he forgets to flush. He keeps getting caught throwing them away. So now, out of sheer desperation, he's resorted to windows. I guess the option of actually DOING THE RIGHT THING is too much. GRRRRRR!!

Cooooookies's picture

Nope they aren't used for that. I've caught him so many times wiping his nose. If he used it for the other activity, there would be hundreds of dried up, crusted wipes all in his bed covers.

Don't think I'm hungry anymore.

For kids who fail to engage their brains locks work wonders in limiting the irritation they can cause.

Lock up the wet-wipes!

I understand but see my response to Granny and Echo. I would literally half to hide or lock up half the household.

My skids have to literally turn around in their bathroom to throw things in the garbage.

NOPE! Empty toilet paper rolls, the shrinkwrap from soap, toothpaste, you name it, empty toothpaste outer boxes, etc ALL END UP BACK IN THE CABINETS.

On the rare occasion that I put on the haz mat suit and go in their bathroom to get a new bar of soap/toothpaste/whatever, I take all of the garbage out of the cabinet and toss it in their tub/shower.

But, I am a bitch like that.

My skids would totally throw their shit out the window of their bathroom, if they had one.

Cooooookies's picture

Haha I belong to the bitch club too! The tub is never used (have a separate shower) so I throw all the things on SS14's floor, right in his doorway. He used to leave his shower towels on the bathroom floor. Plopped, wet and all, on his floor in the doorway.

It works }:)

Allergies. When it turns from winter to spring, his allergies kick up. Of course, it would be too much work to take an allergy pill every day. Unless reminded, of course. And apparently far too much work to use the Kleenex that is right next to his gaming chair.

I detest teenagers.

No he doesn't poop his pants anymore. Although that is largely thanks two the 2 different 'bowel moving' pills he takes every night. Plus the constant never ending reminders that he needs to go, it's 8pm now. Great at 'remembering' on a school night when he's required to turn off all screens at 8pm. Magically "forgets" on weekends when screens are not limited.

He was intensely grossed out that a pair of my underwear was on the stairs yesterday. Must have fallen when I was carrying the clean laundry upstairs and I didn't notice. So he isn't a panty thief...yet.

Using more wet wipes will definitely lead to him doing a lot of extra chores to help "pay" for the mountain of wipes he's used for his nose so far.

I'm trying to make it so that being lazy ends up costing him more work instead of less. He's like water, takes the easiest path possible. I'd say a sloth but sloths are cute.
