Our story was that BM would take my DH back to court every single year for the annual money grab. Her family was well off enough that they would send $100 each to both skids for every single holiday. I am talking EVERY holiday - even St. Patrick's Day and MLK Day (they are neither Irish or African American, but I digress). Then BM would have the skids buy their OWN stuff. So she got to do whatever she wanted with the CS.

We finally got her to quit going for her annual money grab when my DH filed Contempt of Court on her and won. Then she quit taking him to court every time he sneezed but she still would go for the free every 3 year chance from CSE.

The last time she exercised her option to get the amount reviewed was a few months before the oldest turned 18. When SD DID turn 18 (and already had a 2 year old baby!), DH went to CSE to have CS stopped. Turns out because of the way the order was written (just stating a total amount and two skids - not broken down by skid), he couldn't stop paying the FULL AMOUNT until three years had gone past. Once that happened, he'd be able to have it adjusted. ARGH!!! I was so mad!!

Luckily, SS wasn't far behind in age. He turned 18 in the Fall and DH got something that BM filled out requesting that it continue until he actually graduated HS. So, SS was getting close to being 19 and SD was almost 20 on her SECOND pregnancy before DH was DONE DONE DONE. BM kicked SD out (and grandbaby) right after she turned 18. She kicked out SS right after he graduated. I guess she didn't have space for people who weren't "earning" her some kind of paycheck!

We could have paid a lawyer to take BM back to court and have it adjusted there. But by that time we were so battle weary from so many years of going to court and dealing with BM that we decided not to. BM also had the option to ask for CS to continue through college but didn't. We figured if we took her to court, she'd ask for that too.

Has your DH nailed the GUBM to the wall for CS yet. If not WTF is taking him so long?

In our case Sperm GrandMa filed instantly to end CS when my SS turned 18. He was in Sperm Land for his final CO'd visitation and Sperm GrandMa filed on his birthday. She had tried to do it when he graduated from HS at 17 but the CO stipulated CS until graduation or age 18 whichever was later.

My DW did not file for a CSE review for 9 years and only then when I put my foot down and made her do it. I was sick of getting the guilt trip crap from the SPerm Clan about how it was not fair that SS had nice things while the three younger also out of wedlock Sperm Idiot spawn by two more baby mamas did not because of the $130/mo in CS the Sperm Clan had to pay. So we nailed them for $785/mo and let them really howl. }:)
