Slightly O/T: my SIL is a crazy SM

So my brother had a 3 yr old daughter when he married my SIL. The BM in his situation was crazy, but she was also very young, had no family support & my brother is not the easiest person to deal with. In the past several years, she has really surprised everyone & turned over a new leaf. She finished her degree while working full time, married a really good man & has a happy, healthy marriage, purchased a lovely home, lost 100 lbs & looks great.

Advice needed for Monday a.m.

Hi STalkers, I need some advice on a situation DH has coming up Monday a.m.

Normally, he drops SD off at school/daycare. If neither option is available, he is to meet BM at 8 a.m. at a neutral spot. This Monday neither is available as day camp is over for the summer & school begins later in the week. SD has been staying with BM's father on BM's days if she's not at day camp. School orientation is at 2 pm Monday.

OMG...she did it again!

Told us she was dropping off SD at our house, that is. See my previous blog about BM continuing to demand that she be allowed to do exchanges at my home. It has been an ongoing battle for 3 years even though it clearly states in the CO that all exchanges occur at a neutral location. It is one boundary I am not budging on and BM cannot stand it.

I had a long talk with DH after last week's fiasco, so he is really backing me up this time (yay DH, better late than never).

Yet another way BM has managed to eff up my life...

DH and I rent our home. It was actually mine, then DH and SD moved in after we married. While it was great for a single girl, it's a little small for 2 adults, a 6 yr old and 2 big dogs. We had planned on buying within about 6 months of marriage. Since I had great credit and we both made decent money when we married, buying really would not have been a problem for us, even without a big downpayment. However, since BM went batshit crazy when we married, we have been engaged in a 3 year long court battle costing over $15K. So, that makes things a little tougher.

Summer vacation is finally over!!!!

Or maybe I should say it's just beginning (for me).

I haven't posted in a while as I've been overwhelmed with work, visiting relatives, SD's birthday, etc. but I've had quite an eye-opening summer.

This was DH's first summer with the new CO in which he gets 2 2-week visitation periods with SD. Which is the longest period of time he has had her 24/7 since BM took off with her 5 years ago. Needless to say, those were some loooong weeks. I learned a few things about DH, SD, myself & how I fit into this step mess. And quite frankly, I'm not sure I like what I learned.

Really? A crop top? For a 6 yr old?!!!!

So maybe I am old-fashioned, but I have been reading about all SM's on this site who are dealing with teen SD's wearing booty shorts, mini-skirts, bikinis & all around too tight, too skimpy clothes. How do they end up thinking that dressing this way is OK? At some point, someone has to buy that crap for them. In my case, it is my MIL.
