When I was in high school (graduated '92), a promise ring meant the boy "promised" to ask you to marry him in the future. Usually a gesture to get a girl to "cave in" so to speak...

What does it mean now? Princess's boyfriend, Stepping Stone, gave her one last night. Supposedly it was for her birthday, and they ordered it and it just arrived. It looks like a fancy class ring, with both their birth stones, and their names on each side of the band.

Loghead has a job interview tomorrow!

Not many teaching jobs are opening up in our area, and this would be a good opportunity for our family.

We have our annual insurance meeting today to find out what our school district plans to offer next year. I gave Loghead all the papers last week so we could talk it over, so I could simply sign the forms today and leave.

Yea, well, procrastination is his middle name... So I called him a few minutes go to ask about it, and said I'd like to to drop my coverage to a lower plan to save money. "Well, we have to add all the kids to your plan since we don't know my job plans yet..."

I asked what that meant for my take-home, and he said, "You'll stil get paid."

Princess has had a rough week, and has taken it all out on me. Earlier this week, I told her I thought we needed a Girls Night on Friday and she agreed. It's something I've been wanting to do for months, but she's just always so busy with work and Senior year stuff. I was very excited about our night, and had planned to play with her hair to decide on prom hairstyles. I even bought new nail polish and her favorite snack foods and planned to rent a movie. My friends invited me out for the evening, but I said no- I'm hanging with my daughter!
