So, as some of you know we are going through a custody battle and it has brought up some mixed feelings in me. On one side it hurts my SO to not have his son there 50% of the time. On the other side, I don't especially care for his son. I used to try so hard to like him and treat him like my own but there is absolutely no emotional connection between us. I'm helping SO because SO wants me to, not because I want to.

I've come to the realization that I do not, in fact, like my step son. And I feel awful not like a three year old but this kid is violent and unpredictable because of the things he's seen with his mother. During our visitation we got him a toy car from Goodwill, we've decided that buying toys for way more then they're worth is stupid so if they're in good shape we get them second hand. This car has a little guy inside and this little guy pops up when it hits something then you push it down and you can do it all over again.

So, a friend of mine, Dingy, was at her friend's house when all of a sudden Dingy hears a familiar voice! Dingy's friend lives next to Moby's current residence (Which will last about a week more, is my bet) and Dingy could hear Moby yelling from inside her friend's apartment when Moby was outside. And, of course, she was complaining about us.

It went as expected, at least...

So, we had court Friday and the restraining order was dropped, which was expected. And DSS is to stay with Moby until a new parenting plan is put in place (3-9) but we have visitation Saturdays from 9 to 5, Tuesdays 4 to 6, and Thursday 4 to 6. Again, it was expected. The thing that bothers me is that it now feels like the courts are allowing her to get away with this... Which, I realize they aren't but it's still frustrating that someone didn't just smack her...

Well, tomorrow is when we go to court! 11 am is the temporary custody hearing and 1:30 pm is the restraining order hearing. I found out today that even Moby's father doesn't think Moby and DSS live in a good situation. He was very vague so we don't know if it's because of Moby's boyfriend, who I decided to call Captain Sociopath, or their current living situation. To the court our homes would look the same but in reality their home is dirty, poorly maintained, and they'll probably get kicked out here shortly (at least that's been their routine).

How many DH or SOs out there have actually gone for primary custody? And how many just settled for 20% or 50% instead of fighting for more?

This is going to be long, I'm so frustrated. So, I had an account on here before but was forced to delete it for a variety of reasons. Basically, we have hit rock bottom with Moby (Baby Mama). She's always been unpleasant and unpredictable but when we decided to take back control, she lost her flippin' mind. She was CONSTANTLY telling us we weren't getting him back, we'd only see him on weekends, we'd never see him again, etc. This would happen at least once a week. She even told SO that he'd never see DSS again during an emergency c-section for our BS.
