Am I Right? Or not....

queen-B's picture

Any and all thoughts are gratefully appreciated. I am reaching the end of my tether.

The situation stands thus: I am the sole breadwinner in my home. We have older skid half time, and younger skid a little less. All in all, we have three skidless days per month. I have no kids, barring our furbabies. FDH is finishing up some schooling and it looks like he may get a job, but I will remain the primary breadwinner (think $10/hr versus six figures).

Am I going to hell?

So it's been a fun year of legal chess moves, taking a page out of the Rags book of "rollup the court order and smack 'em on the nose with it when they get out of line." No attorney, so we've been doing it ourselves. Yesterday, we get an email from the opposing attorney. She's trying to act like everything is the same as it's always been, and she can call all the shots. Whoops! Doesn't work that way now that there is a solid court order. So I read the email, and while I know there's more crap to come, all I could think was...WINNING!!!

I've Tried, Really I Have...

I never really wanted to know about my FDH's ex, but I've really worked to keep an open mind. His descriptions of her are...let's say...not complimentary. But the kids are in most respects good kids, and pleasant to deal with, so I've kept thinking just how crappy could she really be? But now the oldest skid is flunking one class, and one point away from flunking a second. We had told the skid that we would provide a car and insurance, if skid could get BM to approve a license, if skid kept a 3.25 GPA and held a B in English (the most hated subject).

Okay, I really try to keep a level head, I do. He was the one who told me to never let that...rhymes with "bundt," into the house. Apparently, that only holds when someone other him is making the decisions!!!!

Dodged the bullet!

Thank goodness! I ended up taking SD11 shopping over the weekend for new jeans/pants, since she's added on a couple of inches in height. When we were at the Justice for Girls store, there was a display of training bras...so I plucked up all my courage and asked her if we needed to get her any of those as well. She replied, no, she and her mom had already had the "girl" talk about changing bodies and what was coming, and she would let mom and I know when she felt ready for a training bra. So at least I don't have to worry about the a complete blindside for the kid.
