What are everyone's plans for tonight?
DH is in Detroit working.
SD is going over to a friend's house (Thank Goodness!!)
and I... well, I think I have a lung infection. My lungs hurt and I have a slight fever and I am having trouble breathing if I move around too much.
Soo I will be ENJOYING a WONDERFUL QUIET NEW YEAR'S EVE - alone - with a drink!! I DEFINITELY will have a drink!!! And I'll be talking to DH at midnight. He sent this to me today... this is how we are celebrating... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=telecountdown%20&defid=35...

We are spending the evening
We are spending the evening with the kids. We have "sparkling grape juice" and plastic champagne glasses for the kids and we are going to play games and watch the ball drop! IF we can stay awake!!
Believe it or not, this is the first time FH has spend New Years Eve with his kids!!!!
BM has never spent New Years Eve with the kids. How sad for the both of them.

For some reason, I think it's an old tradition, when my mom and dad used to watch all the grandkids on New Year's Eve, they would let them all go out at midnight and bang on pots and pans!!

We are kid-free tonight (woo-hoo!) and we're going out with a childless couple (also woo-hoo) to the restaurant where DH and I had our first date. This has become a NYE tradition with us the last couple of years. Frankly, it's nice to do this with a childless-by-choice couple -- no talk about kids!!!!! (I like my skids just fine, but you know, when parents get together with other parents, seems like they talk about their kids most of the time...)

It's a little fancy, it's one of those restaurants that is sort of an institution in our town. Good place to wear a sparkly dress, ya know? DH is even gonna wear a suit (yum!). All I know is, I LOVE everything they make! And they make good cocktails, so very much looking forward to that.
I'm definitely drinking a toast to my ST buddies tonight -- and I'm gonna have my friends toast to you guys, too!

We are having a kid party for 15 kids. Karoke, games, snacks, fireworks, "kid wine" in plastic champagne glasses, and real wine for DH and I. It'll be... uh... great, I guess.
